HWA NYC: How We Are

New York City has a mood. Now you can see it — live, block by block, updated every minute. HWA NYC (short for How We Are) is a real-time map of how the city feels. Vote Good or Bad with one tap. Watch your neighborhood light up. See whether Park Slope is having a better day than the East Village. No signup. No email. No tracking. Just your city, live. HOW IT WORKS - Open the app anywhere in NYC - Vote Good or Bad — one tap, no questions asked - See the map update - Come back anytime to vote again (once per hour) WHAT YOU'LL SEE A color-coded heatmap covering all five boroughs and 200+ neighborhoods. Green means the area is feeling good. Red means it isn't. Everything in between is the real New York — complicated, shifting, alive. THE QUESTION OF THE DAY Every day, one city-wide question. Mamdani at 100 days — doing good? Subway feeling safe this week? L train again? Vote Yeah or Nah and watch NYC answer in real time. WIDGETS ON YOUR HOME SCREEN Add the HWA NYC widget to see the mood of your city, your borough, and the neighborhood you're in — all at a glance, without opening the app. PRIVACY IS THE PRODUCT We built HWA NYC for a city that's tired of being tracked. No account. No email. No phone number. No personal data, ever. Your location is used only to place your vote in the right area — we never store where you are. Your data is not the product. It never will be. WHO IT'S FOR New Yorkers who want to know how the city actually feels — not how social media feels, not how the news feels, not how the algorithm wants you to feel. The real thing, from the people living it. WHY IT EXISTS Every neighborhood has a mood. Most of the time, nobody's measuring it. How We Are (HWA) is the first real-time, anonymous, hyper-local sentiment platform — and HWA NYC is where it starts. Built for the people who live here, by the people who live here. Vote. Watch. Come back tomorrow. — Works anywhere in the five boroughs. New York City only.
