About Apnea Comp
Apnea Comp is a professional competition management app for AIDA freediving events, built by ELfreediving for the people who run them: Organizers, Main Judges, Judges, Safety and Media staff, and Athletes. From athlete registration through judging to official results, it replaces scattered spreadsheets, printouts, and manual data entry with one coordinated system, so every role works from the same live data and the whole operation stays in sync. Whether you are running a single pool session or a multi-day depth competition, Apnea Comp keeps results accurate, admin minimal, and everyone informed. • AIDA integration: import athletes and start lists from the AIDA system, then sync judged results back automatically for reliable official standings. • Event setup: configure Pool, Depth, and Team disciplines (STA, DYN, DYN-BF, DNF, CWT, CWT-BF, FIM, CNF), lanes, Official Tops (OT), intervals, break times, and multi-day schedules. • Check-in: register athletes with signature capture, handle late check-in and DNS, and apply automatic late handling. • Judging: enter realized performances (RP), award White, Yellow, and Red cards with penalty reasons, and use built-in distance and STA-average calculators, with unjudged athletes sorted first. • Live start lists: push start-list updates to athletes and staff in real time, and run Speaker Mode with a large countdown and audio cues for the MC. • Results and Rewards: rank athletes with configurable tiebreak rules, track WR, CR, and NR records, and export to CSV and XLSX. • Protests and re-swims: file protests under AIDA rules with athlete signature and jury decision, amend results automatically, and manage re-swim queues and openers. • Athlete Mode: give athletes their personal info, start list, results, rewards, in-app medical and liability forms with PDF export, and protest filing. • Built for every venue: English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese, with light and dark themes, Sign in with Apple and Google, profile photos, and account deletion. From the first check-in to the final ranking, Apnea Comp gives your competition team one dependable place to run the event. Apnea Comp is an independent application by ELfreediving that integrates with the AIDA system; it is not officially affiliated with or endorsed by AIDA.
What’s new
Version 1.2.7 · Updated October 14, 2026
Multi-day competitions • Fixed: on day 2 and later the competition no longer slips into "past events". Rest days and reserve days are now part of the competition period, so the start list, check-in and judging stay available throughout. • Fixed: with a reserve day the period could still shrink to the days the start list had been loaded for, which blocked judging on the final day for judges, staff and safety. The period now only ever widens. Notifications • New Notifications screen: review every start list and results announcement you received, even if you missed the push or have notifications off. A red banner appears on Start List and Results when a new one arrives. Document forms • Fixed: your signature could disappear if you scrolled up after signing and then came back, and the form then refused to submit, saying a signature was required. Signatures are now kept for as long as the form is open. • Fixed: the signature box could shift under your finger as you started to sign, because the keyboard was closing at the same moment. • If submission is closed, the app now tells you so, and why, instead of showing a database error. • The entry form is completed in the app, so announced performance and incident history are always checked. The medical certificate is submitted as a photo of the form signed by your doctor. For athletes • Names containing a hyphen or apostrophe now match the start list correctly. • Documents you already submitted are no longer reported as missing. A failed check is now clearly distinguished from "not submitted". • When no competitions appear, the app now explains what to check, that your name, nationality and gender match your AIDA registration exactly, instead of only telling you to wait. This message was previously shown in English to everyone; it is now translated. • Other athletes' official top times and lanes stay hidden until the start list is published. • When several athletes share a name, the app shows nationality and records and asks you to confirm before linking your profile. • The warning shown when you leave a competition now describes what actually happens: you stop receiving that competition's notifications, you may need a code from the organiser and approval to get back in, and documents you already submitted are kept. For organisers and judges • The "AIDA Points" preview on the judging screen now matches the score that is actually saved and sent to AIDA. For depth results where the realized performance is shallower than announced, the preview is now 1.0 point lower: that is the tag penalty under rule 10.9, which the preview had been leaving out. Announced performances written with a unit, such as "73 m", are now also taken into account. DNS and late check-in show as DNS and DQ instead of 0.0. • Fixed: saving a judging result could restore the announced performance, official top, lane and order that were on screen when the sheet was opened, overwriting newer values changed on another device in the meantime. Judging now writes only judging data. • Fixed: reloading a day's start list cleared the Early/Late Start deduction while leaving the yellow card and its reason in place, so the score no longer matched. A reload could also leave official top times unset or revert that day's settings. • Reloading a day that already has check-ins is not possible, and the app now says why instead of showing a generic database error. • Automatic late check-in now pauses and asks for confirmation instead of marking everyone late when official top times are changed retroactively, and it also works on the third day of a three-day competition. • The medical certificate can be opened directly from the review card. When there is no digital copy because it was handled on site, the app says so instead of simply omitting the button. • Fixed: when a protest was accepted, a failed re-upload to AIDA was never retried.
