About offGrd: offline messenger

2.0. a new look, and a lot less guessing. a fresh coat on iOS 26 and later offGrd picks up the new glassy look of the rest of your iPhone, and on every phone the tab bar now floats. turn on reduce transparency and it goes solid. where's my message? your last message now says exactly where it's at: sending, sent, delivered, read. if the other person is out of range it says it's waiting for them to come nearby, instead of telling you it failed. it hadn't. it was just waiting. all of your history scroll to the top of a chat and older messages load in. the chat also stays where you scrolled it, instead of snapping back to the bottom like it had somewhere to be. adding people, in one place people → add a friend: share your link, show your PIN, type theirs, or paste a link someone sent you. no more hunting around for it. new here? before iOS asks you anything, offGrd says what it's for. and it holds off on notifications until you've got someone to hear from. quiet banners profile → notifications → show message text. switch it off and banners say a message arrived, not what it says. handy when your phone is face up on the table. easier to read message text now grows with your iPhone's text size, all the way up. VoiceOver reads each message as one thing: who, what, when, and whether it got there. quicker opens faster, most of all with a lot of history, and long chats open quicker too. steadier we fixed a crash that could close offGrd when you came back to it after locking your phone or switching apps. it had terrible timing. still no towers. still no servers.
