About Yokai Matsuri
Step through the torii gate and into a world of restless spirits. Yokai Matsuri is more than just a cozy match-3 puzzle game rooted in Japanese folklore: it's a lore filled journey. Follow Inari to cleanse shrines as you match yokai tiles to calm their spirits, fill the sacred ensō with harmony, and earn the megumi gifts of six ancient yokai: Kitsune, Tanuki, Bakeneko, Tengu, Oni, and Yuki-onna. When all six have answered your call, Inari herself steps forward. The fox goddess of the shrine offers her Meccha-Megumi, a sacred fire that purifies the board and opens the path forward. MOMIJI IS HERE! Join Inari under the leaves for Momiji, autumn leaf viewing, running now through October 31. NEW EVENT MECHANIC: FALLING LEAVES Japanese maple leaves now drift down from the top of the board. They can't be matched or cleared, so the goal is to get them all the way to the bottom. Clear the tiles beneath a leaf to help it fall faster, or swipe it aside when it's in the way. Every leaf you land counts toward your total, and your total carries across every Momiji level, so replaying always helps. UNLOCK AS YOU GO - 58 leaves: the Maple Leaf Charm - 108 leaves: Kodama lore - 308 leaves: a new story about Momiji itself 8 NEW LEVELS Momiji is built to be a challenge. Expect to retry a few of these, and don't forget your items. FOR SHRINE KEEPERS Shrine Keepers can claim an exclusive Momiji Manju during the event.
