About TileCount: Tile Estimator
TileCount is a tile estimating worksheet built for field use. Start with the free Quick Count when you need a fast material check for one surface. Your first saved job includes multiple spaces, customer details, pricing, quote review, and both PDF exports. Unlock TileCount Pro for unlimited saved jobs and reusable company defaults. Deleting your first job does not renew the free allowance. Built for tile contractors, remodelers, and serious DIY projects: - Estimate floors, walls, showers, tub surrounds, and backsplashes - Start faster with room templates for tub surrounds, showers, backsplashes, and floors - Deduct untiled openings such as doors, windows, and fixtures, and account for tiled niche returns - Account for pattern waste on straight, stacked, running bond, diagonal, herringbone, and chevron installs - Round tile orders to full boxes and flag box coverage entries that look unusual - Choose mosaic chip size and trowel size for tighter grout and thinset estimates - Estimate grout, thinset, backer board or uncoupling membrane, waterproofing, movement-joint sealant, trim, accessories, labor, markup, and tax - Use your own price book values for tile, setting materials, accessories, labor, markup, and tax - Review install risks like wet-area waterproofing, movement joints, stone reminders, substrate conditions, and large-format mortar setup - Share a paginated client proposal PDF with one total, revision number, validity date, scope, inclusions, exclusions, terms, site conditions still to be verified, and printed-name and signature lines for client and contractor - Export an internal worksheet, as a draft before review if you want, that keeps estimator economics, warnings, and price details separate from the client proposal TileCount does not provide live supplier pricing or licensed cost-book rates. It gives you a structured estimating workflow using the prices and job assumptions you control. TileCount estimates are not guarantees. Verify quantities, dimensions, prices, taxes, manufacturer instructions, local code requirements, and jobsite conditions before ordering materials, signing a contract, or starting work.
What’s new
Version 1.0.4 · Updated October 10, 2026
This update improves estimate accuracy and makes the client proposal shorter and clearer. - Corrected the generic cement grout allowance and mosaic joint geometry, which previously ordered far more grout than manufacturer charts indicate. Saved jobs keep their numbers until you choose to update them. - Jobs saved in earlier versions keep their numbers, but some need attention before a proposal can be shared again: floors over a bonded membrane or backer board need that mortar's coverage entered on the space (or the job updated to the current calculation profile), and showers or tub surrounds that were saved from the calculator need their wet-area assembly confirmed. The app tells you which and where. - Quotes you marked reviewed in an earlier version need one fresh review here before sharing, because the client proposal has changed. Open the quote, check it, and tap Mark reviewed. Totals are unchanged. - Numbers typed with a decimal comma (7,5) are now read correctly. - Mortar beneath uncoupling membrane and floor backer board is now counted with a clearly labelled generic allowance you can replace with your product's coverage. - More shower assemblies are supported: foam backer board, new backer over open framing, sheet membrane over wall board where the manufacturer allows it, and shower floors over wood framing. - The client proposal is now a concise document, typically two pages for an ordinary job: scope, spaces, inclusions, exclusions and one total first, then site conditions, terms and signature lines for both parties. Long custom text continues onto further pages. - Material quantities are now internal only. The client proposal no longer has a material quantities table, and the "Material quantities" option under client proposal sections has been removed. The full material breakdown, with quantities, unit prices and totals, is on the internal worksheet. - Proposals carry page numbers, a revision number, and dates that stay fixed for each reviewed revision. Changing a reviewed job's spaces, prices, customer, or quote settings asks for review again before the proposal can be shared. - Site conditions that have not been verified are listed in plain client wording, grouped by the spaces they apply to. Marking a quote reviewed is an acknowledgment, not a completed site check. - Reviewed quotes show the share actions first, with notes grouped by space. - You can preview the proposal pages and export a draft internal worksheet before review. - Improved large-text layouts for quote review and settings, and cleaner wrapping of long totals and areas in the proposal header. - The free calculator is called Quick Count everywhere in the app. Estimates are not guarantees. Verify quantities, prices, manufacturer instructions, code requirements, and jobsite conditions before ordering materials or sending proposal numbers.
