About Cadence - NPTE Board Prep

Cadence is the all-in-one NPTE prep platform built specifically for Doctor of Physical Therapy students and graduates. Study smarter with a system that adapts to you from your first diagnostic to exam day. Cadence combines complete blueprint coverage, textbook-anchored content, and intelligent spaced repetition so every study session moves the needle. What's inside: • 100% NPTE blueprint coverage, with every exam topic mapped to a dedicated lesson • Lessons written from the textbooks your program already assigns, so you are studying the source instead of somebody's summary of it • A personalized study plan paced to your exam date that adjusts as you go, so you always know what to study next and whether you're on track • 5 full-length, timed 225-question mock exams spaced across your prep timeline, mirroring the real FSBPT format • 2,400+ adaptive practice questions covering MSK, Neuro, Cardiopulm, Peds, and more • 1,700+ flashcards and counting, with intelligent spaced repetition that adapts as you study and resurfaces what you're most likely to forget • A rationale for every answer choice, not just the right one, so you learn why the other three are wrong • Smart review that points you straight to the lessons tied to the questions you missed • Daily challenges, XP, and leaderboards to keep you consistent Why the sourcing matters: Most NPTE prep is somebody's notes on the material. Cadence is built from the textbooks physical therapy programs actually teach from, and every lesson and question names the book behind it. When an explanation doesn't click, you can go read the source yourself, in a book you already own. Built by a DPT student, for DPT students. Whether you're a first-time candidate or a retaker, Cadence meets you where you are and gets you where you need to go. Full access to all features requires an active subscription. A 7-day free trial is included with every plan, with no charge today. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled 24 hours before the renewal date. What’s new

Version 4.4 · Updated October 15, 2026

Version 4.4 lets you choose how much of Cadence to study, and builds that plan around your exam date. STUDY PLANS SIZED TO YOUR TIME Cadence holds 605 lessons, and few students have time for all of them. You can now choose one of five plans: - Cram (2-week plan): 66 lessons - Essentials (30-day plan): 131 lessons - Core (60-day plan): 286 lessons - Comprehensive (90-day plan): 442 lessons - Everything: all 605 Every plan is cut from one ranking of the whole catalog by exam yield, so each teaches the highest-yield lessons first and still reaches every area of the exam. The plans nest: everything you finish in a shorter plan counts toward the longer ones, so you can move up at any time without losing progress. Cadence recommends a plan from your exam date and daily study time, and each option shows whether it fits before exam day with a review week to spare. New students choose during setup; change plans any time in Account > Study Plan. Your choice syncs across your devices. If you already use Cadence, nothing changes until you choose. You stay on the full catalog, and a card on Home invites you to look at the plans. SEE YOUR WHOLE PLAN, AND WORK AHEAD Tap Full plan on the Exam Readiness card, or the plan card in Lessons, to see every lesson in your plan by exam category and module, with your progress through each. Up Next picks your next lesson, and any lesson is one tap away when you have extra time. SEE WHAT YOU PICKED ON MISSED QUESTIONS After a mastery check, each missed question now appears in full: every answer choice, the one you picked, the correct one, and the rationale under each choice. Before, the review showed only the correct answer, so you couldn't see your own pick or retrace what you were thinking. Thanks to the student who asked for it. ONE SCORE SCALE EVERYWHERE Cadence used to turn percent correct into a scaled score with three formulas that disagreed - the practice-question readiness score ran generous, calling some below-passing performances a pass. The readiness score, the diagnostic, and the mock exams now share one curve that models the NPTE's 200-800 scale, so the same performance earns the same estimate everywhere. Mock results now show a likely score range next to the score. Your projected score may move after this update. Your answers and history are unchanged. MOCK EXAMS IN THE BOARD EXAM FORMAT All 1,125 original mock questions have been rewritten in the format the NPTE uses: a clinical scenario, one capitalized cue word such as MOST, FIRST, or BEST, and four short parallel answer choices. Each choice still has its own rationale, cited to the textbook it comes from, and a wrong answer's rationale now names the condition it would fit. Past results and any exam in progress carry over. 17 NEW LESSONS Seventeen new lessons fill gaps in the catalog, each written from and cited to the textbooks: - Pes anserine bursitis and medial knee pain - Posterior tibial tendon dysfunction - Mallet finger and jersey finger - Reverse total shoulder arthroplasty precautions - Latissimus dorsi length - Arthrogryposis multiplex congenita - Infection signs after joint replacement - Perinatal brachial plexus injury - Figure-ground and spatial relations disorders - Abnormal breathing patterns - Skin as the first sign: psoriatic arthritis and scleroderma - Herpes zoster (shingles) - Anorexia nervosa: physical signs - Relaxin and joint laxity in pregnancy - Feeding and gastric tubes - Choosing the discharge setting - Abdominal binders Each comes with cited mastery questions and is ranked into the study plans. FIXED The Resume button on The Path home now opens lesson tasks. Before, once the day's quizzes were done, it did nothing for the rest of the day. Cadence now includes 605 lessons across 304 units, 3,600+ questions - including the five 225-question mock exams built to the NPTE content outline - 1,100+ in-lesson mastery checks, and 1,700+ flashcards. Built by a DPT student, for DPT students.
