Firewood Identifier: AI

The firewood app for stove owners, not carpenters. Every other AI wood-ID app answers questions woodworkers ask — grain, workability, furniture use. FirewoodIdentifier answers the questions a stove owner or firewood buyer actually has: what species did I get, how much heat will it give, is it seasoned, and is it safe to burn indoors? Snap one photo of a log or pile — get an answer in under 10 seconds. ▸ WHAT YOU GET FROM ONE PHOTO Every scan returns four things no competitor shows: • Species identification — with a confidence score and up to two plausible alternatives you can tap to correct • BTU rating per cord — pulled from USDA / Midwest Hearth references, so you know the heat value before you burn • Seasoning check — visual cues for whether your wood is dry enough (radial end-cracks, bark separation, pale split faces) • Indoor-burn safety — a green/amber/red verdict with the reason spelled out (toxic species, creosote risk, green wood) ▸ TWO WAYS TO SCAN Different photos need different prompts. Pick the mode that matches what you're looking at. • End-grain mode — point at the cut end of a log for the highest-accuracy reading (growth rings carry the most species information) • Bark or stack mode — shoot the side of a log or a full cord for a lower-friction scan when you can't see the end ▸ HONEST ABOUT ACCURACY Wood identification from a photo is hard — even experts disagree. FirewoodIdentifier never hides uncertainty: • Every scan shows a confidence percentage, not just a species name • When confidence is low, the app surfaces the two most plausible alternatives as tappable chips • Tap an alternative to correct the top guess — the app updates in place and learns which photos confuse it • No "for entertainment purposes only" hidden disclaimer after purchase ▸ BUILT FOR RECURRING USE Your firewood story is a season of scans, not a one-off: • History keeps every scan with species, BTU, date, and a safety dot • Share any result as a summary card (species, BTU, seasoned/not) by text or email • Ask a follow-up question on any scan — "how long does this need to season?" — answered in context • Works across iPhone and iPad with the same data ▸ PRICING FREE: • 10 scans (lifetime) • Last 10 scans in history • 1 follow-up question per scan • All accuracy features — confidence scores, alternatives, correction loop PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTION FirewoodIdentifier Premium is available with the following subscription options: Premium Monthly: $7.99/month Premium Annual: $59.99/year (Save 37%) — includes 7-day free trial Premium unlocks unlimited scans, unlimited history, unlimited follow-up questions, and removes all ads.
