About Oritabi: Japan Station Log
Log every station you get off at, with a photo, a note and a star rating. No account, no sign-up - open the app and start. Three steps, that's all. 1. Get off at a station and open the app 2. Tap "Record Here" at the bottom right of the Map (the nearest station is picked for you) 3. Add a photo and a note, then save You never have to type a station name, and you can add past trips later. Your records don't disappear: iCloud sync and a backup you keep yourself - your records stay with you when you switch to a new phone. Oritabi turns your train trips in Japan into a collection. 10,574 station entries across Japan are included (a station served by several lines is counted once per line), from Shinkansen hubs to tiny unmanned stops in the mountains. WHAT YOU CAN DO - Tap a station to mark it as visited - Watch your completion rate grow, line by line - Browse the Station Encyclopedia and complete themed collections - Turn on iCloud sync to keep your records when you switch devices - Export your records and photos together (CSV files you exported before can still be imported) - Share your progress as an image card on X, Instagram or LINE COLLECTIONS - Footbath Stations (37) - stations with a free or cheap foot spa on the platform or right by the station - Secret Stations (50) - remote stops with almost no houses around them (Support Pack) - Oldest Stations (30) - a selection of stations opened in the early Meiji era (1872-1887) and still in use, oldest first (Support Pack) - Seaside Stations (16) - stations where you can see the sea from the platform or the station - Switchback Stations (12) - stations where the train changes direction, confirmed by official sources - Stations with Observation Decks (15) - look out over the city, sea or mountains from the station building or platform - Stations on Bridges (7) - stations built on a bridge with a river flowing right under the platform, confirmed by official sources - Stations for Aquariums (64) - which station to get off at for 63 aquariums across Japan, chosen from the stations listed on each aquarium's official website (some are within walking distance, others need a bus) - Stations for World Heritage Sites (28) - which station to get off at for 22 of Japan's World Heritage Sites, chosen from the stations listed on each site's official website (sites unreachable by train are not included) - Village Stations (114) - only 44 of Japan's 183 villages have a station - Reiwa-Era Stations (57) - stations opened since the Reiwa era began, newest first - Closed Stations (380) - stations trains no longer serve, with closing dates where official records confirm them (Support Pack) - Mini-Shinkansen (15) - stations where the Yamagata and Akita Shinkansen stop while running on conventional lines - Historic Station Buildings (55) - designated Important or Registered Tangible Cultural Properties, counted by building (Support Pack) FREE TO START Free to use. The Support Pack is a one-time purchase - buy it once, keep it for good: - No ads at all - both banners and full-screen ads disappear - Closed Stations (380) - stations trains no longer serve. A visit logged before closing becomes proof that you once stood there - Secret Stations (50) - remote stops with almost no houses around them - Oldest Stations (30) - a selection of stations opened in the early Meiji era and still in use - Historic Station Buildings (55) - station buildings designated as cultural properties - My Pins - drop a pin anywhere on the map to keep a place that matters to you - Municipality coloring map - the cities, towns and villages with stations you got off at are coloured in (places with no station can't be coloured) ABOUT THE DATA Station data from ekidata.jp. What’s new
Version 1.89 · Updated October 14, 2026
Thank you for using Oritabi. The map scale is now easier to read. - When you zoomed the map in or out, the scale bar was hidden behind the station count in the top-left corner. The scale now appears just below the station count. Thank you to the user who let us know. All your existing records are kept as they are.
