Ball Speed

Ball Speed estimates how fast a pitch travels using only your iPhone — no radar gun, no external hardware. THREE WAYS TO TIME A PITCH • Audio — Tap to start, then let your phone's microphone catch the impact of ball-on-mitt or ball-on-bat. Works surprisingly well in game conditions, including moderate crowd noise. • Hold — Press and hold when the ball is released, release when it lands. Good for one-person timing. • Tap-Tap — Tap at release, tap again at impact. Simple and reliable. BUILT FOR BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL • Pitching distance presets — MLB (60.5 ft), Youth / Little League (46 ft), Middle School (54 ft), plus custom distances • Optional pitcher and field name tags — sticky, so you don't have to re-enter them every pitch • Full pitch history saved offline — review your session or clear it anytime YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR PHONE No accounts. No sign-in. No analytics. No ads. No network activity. Ball Speed is fully offline — pitches you record never leave your device. GOOD TO KNOW Ball Speed is a training and practice tool, not an MLB-grade radar gun. The audio and tap triggers carry small timing variations, so take readings as a useful estimate rather than an exact number. Accuracy improves with a consistent setup (same distance, same capture method, same phone position). Perfect for pitchers tracking progress, coaches running bullpen sessions, parents at the field, and softball or baseball players of any age.
