About Mihrab: The Muslim Companion

Mihrab is a calm companion for a Muslim's day: the prayers, the Quran, and the remembrance in between, in one private app. Hold any word in the mushaf and hear that one word read. Follow the recited word as it lights up on the page. See tajweed in colour, on Hafs and on Warsh. Keep your journal and settings in step between your own devices, with no account and no server. And every line of it is open source. PRAY - Prayer times for today, the week and the month ahead — worked out on your phone, from a provider, or from the published national tables for Sweden and Morocco — shareable as an image or a PDF - The adhan for each prayer, with seventeen recordings or your own, a reminder before it, and snooze - A Live Activity counting down to the next prayer, on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island - Qibla compass with signal strength and a cross-check against the sun - Log each prayer with one tap; the journal keeps the record, the streak and the graph - Home Screen widgets: prayer times in three sizes, today's log, Hijri date, streak, tasbih and reading READ AND LISTEN - The Madinah mushaf, drawn as text from the King Fahd Complex's page fonts and sharp at any size — and Warsh, Qalun and Shu'bah beside it - Tajweed colours, every rule explained — on Hafs and on Warsh - The word reader: hold a word to hear it read on its own - 42 reciters, and for those with word timings, the recited word lit on the page - Tilawah: surah into surah with the screen off, with a sleep timer and a speed control - 13 translations and classical tafsir, kept for offline reading - Memorisation tools, bookmarks, and khatmah plans that follow the page you are on REMEMBER - More than 100 duas from Hisn al-Muslim, with transliteration and translation - A tasbih counter for the dhikr after prayer and beyond - A fasting log for Ramadan and the Sunnah fasts, with reminders - The Hijri calendar with Ramadan, Eid and Jumu'ah, and an ayah of the day YOURS - No ads, no analytics, no trackers, no account - Works offline once your location is set and the pages you want are on the phone - Sync between your own devices with no account and no server of ours: sealed files in a folder you already keep in sync - Backup and restore to a file you keep - 13 languages, with Arabic and Urdu fully right-to-left - Light, dark and pure-black themes, your own accent colour, and Liquid Glass The network is used only when you choose it: a prayer-time provider (AlAdhan, PrayTimes.dev, or the national tables for Sweden and Morocco), place search through OpenStreetMap Nominatim, and downloading Quran pages, translations, tafsir and recitation audio. What’s new

Version 2.32.1 · Updated October 19, 2026

Mihrab 2.32.1 • Morocco (#82): on a phone whose time-zone data still puts Morocco at GMT+1, a clock set back by hand now gets the ministry's times, and Today says how to put an automatic clock right (set the time zone to GMT by hand). The countdown, the widget and the alerts agree again. • Warsh and Qālūn (#83): the reciter reads the ayah that is lit. The recordings follow the Ḥafṣ count; each ayah now plays from the files it is recited in. • Khatmah (#84): a surah read ahead from the index no longer moves your khatmah. • Recitation runs on from ayah to ayah without the silence between the files, and the pause between repeats keeps playing with the screen off. • Ayah sheet: Play from here, Play this ayah, and Play on repeat (until stopped). The range player sits under the speed, ends at the ayah you opened, and has its repeats under it. • Mushaf: surah names centred in their band; less empty space above and below the page; a screen too short for the page scrolls it instead of squeezing the lines; a phone on its side opens fullscreen; Hide beside Cancel on a download. • Prayer times: many fixes found by checking every source in every time zone — days near midnight and across the date line, Imsak on the night the clocks change, border towns, Cyprus, offline Automatic, alerts rewritten after an update, and more. • The namazvakti.com mirror carries on past the cities the site has no table for.
