WHAT YOU CAN COLLECT • National Parks: all 63, on a map that fills in as you go • 50 States: one patch each, on a map of every state you've been to • City Challenges: 64 cities, each with a hand-picked list of the stops worth making • Civil War: Gettysburg, Antietam, Shiloh, Vicksburg, Appomattox and more • Route 66: Illinois to California, state by state • National Forests: more than 90 of them • Plus State Parks, Roadside Attractions, Ghost Adventures, the Wild West, Native America, Founding & Revolution, Zoos, Aquariums, stadiums and airports HOW IT WORKS • The compass points you at the nearest patch you don't have yet and shows its real boundary on the map. Cold, Warmer, Hot. Your phone taps faster as you close in. • Cross the line and the reveal takes over the screen. Every patch has a rarity, Common to Legendary, set by how hard the place is to reach. • Near Me shows everything inside the radius you pick, closest first, as one collection you can sort and filter. • Navigate in Scout drives you to a single patch on Scout's own map. Anywhere else, one tap hands the directions to Apple Maps or Google Maps. PLAN A DAY Choose the kind of trip: plan my day, just drive, or collect what's nearby. Scout lines up the stops, reminds you when it's time to leave, and sends the route to your maps app. The trip ticks off each stop as you reach it. ALREADY BEEN PLACES? Scan your camera roll. Scout finds your GPS-tagged trip photos, matches them to places, and you choose which patches to add. The original photo dates are kept. Your photos stay on your phone; to match them, Scout uses only where each one was taken. A FIELD GUIDE, NOT A PIN Every place has its history and key dates, with the sources cited. Battlefields get their own panel: commanders, troop strengths, casualties and how it ended. Each place also has a board where other scouts post photos from their visits.
