Dark Academy - Philosophy

Your own biases are the hardest to see, so challenge yourself: debate recreations of history's greatest minds in live voice conversations, then study a detailed breakdown with the fallacies called out. That's how you start to see the errors in your own thinking. Not ready to debate? Ask them why, or take a lesson. ASK WHY MODE - FREE Pick a thinker and start a 2:30 conversation. You speak first. Your split-screen video is recorded on your iPhone, ready to save and share. 10 free videos every day. DEBATE MODE Argue against a philosopher for 10 minutes. Want help? Tap the hint button for a coaching hint, and skip it if you'd rather go it alone. Afterward, a full scorecard names the fallacies you leaned on, with detailed analysis and coaching on your arguments. Think sharper, and see your own reasoning the way an opponent sees it. THE SCORECARD Both you and the AI opponent are scored by a neutral AI judge across four dimensions - reasoning, engagement, depth, and resilience - 100 points total. Logical fallacies are detected for both sides: straw man, ad hominem, false dilemma, appeal to emotion, circular reasoning, and more. Every fallacy is identified with a confidence rating. You also get a verdict from the judge and personalized coaching tips for your next debate. LESSONS MODE Like a private lecture from a great mind, powered by AI. Pick a topic and they take you through it - but the lesson adapts to what you say. They challenge what you push back on, slow down where you're stuck, and follow you where your questions lead. You can also just talk freely. No two conversations are the same. Each AI voice is crafted from research into accent, cadence, language, and time period - Machiavelli with the smooth, shrewd Florentine accent of a cynical political advisor, Karl Marx with a guttural German rasp in his 50s, Kafka with the dry haunting voice and Prague accent, and Joan of Arc with the rapid, high-pitched fervor of a teenage peasant from medieval France. Choose from 24 AI-powered characters, each with their own voice, personality, sense of humor, and way of seeing the world: PHILOSOPHERS Lao Tzu, Socrates, Diogenes, Marcus Aurelius, Niccolò Machiavelli, Rousseau, Voltaire, Kant, Hegel, Kierkegaard, Schopenhauer, Bakunin, Karl Marx, Nietzsche, Kafka HISTORICAL FIGURES Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, Napoleon LITERARY CHARACTERS Don Quixote, Don Juan, Count of Monte Cristo, Ivan Karamazov, Sherlock Holmes PSYCHOANALYST Freud Ask Why is free: 10 videos a day, no subscription needed. New accounts also get 30 free minutes, one time, to try Debate Trainer and Lessons. Subscribe for more minutes every month, plus rollover. Pick a thinker. Ask why. They talk back.
