Captain Patch

Getting a toddler to wear glasses or an eye patch every single day is a battle every parent of a child with amblyopia knows too well. Captain Patch turns that daily struggle into a reward — and into a habit. ———————————————— HOW IT WORKS ———————————————— Your child browses a visual library of their favourite cartoons and movies. The moment they press play, Captain Patch quietly activates the iPad's or iPhone's front camera and checks they're wearing their prescribed eyewear. When their glasses or patch are on — as required — the show begins. The moment their glasses or patch come off, even for a second, the cartoon pauses. A friendly animal wearing its own eye patch pops up on screen. The second your child puts their eyewear back on, the movie resumes exactly where it left off. No nagging. No battles. Just cartoons. ———————————————— CONFIGURABLE FOR YOUR CHILD'S PRESCRIPTION ———————————————— Every child's treatment is different. In Settings, you choose: Eye patch only — left eye or right eye Glasses only Eye patch and glasses together Captain Patch checks for exactly what your child has been prescribed — nothing more, nothing less. ———————————————— PRIVACY FIRST — EVERYTHING STAYS ON DEVICE ———————————————— The front camera never records or stores video. Detection runs entirely on-device using on-board computer vision. No images, no data, no cloud. Ever. ———————————————— YOUR MEDIA, YOUR LIBRARY ———————————————— Captain Patch works with videos stored locally on your device. Browse by category in a clean, visual interface — no subscriptions, no streaming, no internet required. ———————————————— TRACK PROGRESS, CELEBRATE WINS ———————————————— Daily and weekly wearing statistics for glasses, patch, or both Achievements and milestones to keep kids motivated A growing cast of adorable patch-wearing animal companions that appear when it's time to put the eyewear back on ———————————————— BUILT BY A DAD, FOR PARENTS LIKE YOU ———————————————— My two-year-old was diagnosed with amblyopia. Getting them to wear their patch and glasses every day was a constant battle — so I spent a weekend building a solution. Within days, their compliance transformed. Captain Patch is the app I wished existed. I'm sharing it hoping it helps your family too.
