About Phoslog: Film Photo Logbook

Phoslog is a logging-first app for film photographers. Record your time, location and exposure settings as you shoot with iPhone or Apple Watch, then write them to your scans on Mac. Your photos sort in your library by the moment you shot them, not when the lab scanned them. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

What’s new

Version 1.2.2 · Updated September 26, 2026

Huge update! Here is what is new and snazzy! Rolls and gear - A new "Logging to" section at the top of the Loaded status that gives you clarity on exactly which loaded roll you are logging to via the add exposure button. - Pinning replaces targeting. Let's be honest, targeting was confusing. Pin a roll to always log to it, or leave it unpinned and Phoslog uses the loaded roll with the most recent exposure. - Status capsules got a little extra sauce, tappable status badges show a chevron, and filter sheet styling is now more consistent. - Added f1.5 to the custom aperture list by user request. - Cleaned up the top menu bar items. Logging - New settings menu called Remember Last Exposure. Decide exactly what exposure information to carry over from your last shot. It syncs to the watch too! - You can now log if a flash fired on each exposure. There is a new “Can use flash” toggle in the add camera sheet. Apple Watch - Pinned rolls sync to the watch by default now. You can turn this off in settings if you want to split your pinned rolls between the watch and phone. - New roll info screen, reached from the roll card. - Roll animations on the watch when moving between statuses. Search - Search is its own screen with ranked results and a working keyboard dismiss. Under the hood - New data store. The whole library moved off SwiftData onto a SQLite store, with a one-time rebuild that runs once on upgrade. This is a huge backend change but you won’t notice a thing. But I’ll know……and it will be glorious. Fixes - Quick Exposure no longer stalls when the Action Button fires while a sync is draining. - Every exposure records its camera, so changing or removing a roll's camera later doesn't rewrite your history. - Fixed-lens cameras can record a shutter speed. - Exposure mode can be cleared, and exposure compensation treats 0 as a real value. - Aperture display collisions and the half-stop scale. - Adding an exposure to a stash roll right after choosing a camera recorded no camera. This is fixed. - Deleting gear syncs properly. Restoring gear now outranks a stale deletion from the other device, and deleting a lens no longer erases the frame it shot.
