About Anky: Daily Writing Journal

A blank page. Nothing in front of it. Anky is the simplest writing app we could make. You open it and you are already writing. No account. No feed. No followers. No AI. Nothing to set up and nothing to unlock. HOW IT WORKS Tap the clock to choose how long you want to write, from one to eight minutes, or ∞ for no limit. The hourglass next to it is the 8 second rule: stop typing for eight seconds and the writing ends. It keeps you moving forward instead of going back over the last sentence. Turn it off and only you decide when you are done. That is the whole app. WHEN YOU FINISH Your words stay exactly where they are. Tap the page and keep going, today or any other day. Every writing is saved on your phone, dated and searchable, in a drawer that slides in from the side. Copy a writing out with one tap, or copy it wrapped in a reflection prompt to paste into whatever AI you already use, if you want to. Your streak, and a calendar of the days you wrote, are one tap away. You wrote today or you didn't. YOURS, AND ONLY YOURS Anky does not connect to any server. Your writing is never uploaded, never read and never used to train anything. There are no analytics and no ads. If you want a backup, turn on encrypted iCloud backup and it goes to your own iCloud. WRITE BEFORE YOU SCROLL If you want, Anky can stand between you and the apps you open without deciding to. Choose them in Settings. When you reach for one, write first. A finished sentence opens a short pass, and writing your minutes opens the rest of the day. Turn it off any time. Settings has the rest: backspace, autocorrect, how long the stillness lasts, the font and its size. Free. No subscription. No purchases. What’s new

Version 2.2.0 · Updated October 24, 2026

The simplest Anky yet. Anky no longer connects to any server. No AI reflections, no subscription, no account. Your writing never leaves your phone. Tap the clock for one line: the 8 second rule, a slider for your minutes, and ∞. Finished a writing? Tap it to keep going. Same page, same words. Backspace is on by default. Turn it off in Settings if you want to write forward only. Copy any writing, or copy it with a reflection prompt to paste into the AI you already use. Stats are simpler: you wrote that day or you didn't. Blocked apps now unlock as soon as you have written, and the shield's emergency unlock works again.
