Turn practice videos into a record of what actually matters. Hoof Notes is a video notebook for riders, athletes, parents, and coaches. Pause a lesson video from your Photos library and pin a note or drawing to that moment. No more scrubbing through 45 minutes to find what you noted down or what your coach said. NEW IN 2.0 • Coach Mode (beta): Tap the sparkle button and talk while the video plays, pauses, and rewinds. Hoof Notes writes down what you say on your iPhone, puts each remark at the moment you were talking about, and shows the notes for you to edit before saving. The recording is never saved. • Share with up to two people: Invite your coach or family through iCloud. Everyone keeps their own notes and reads the others' notes next to their own copy of the same video. • Widgets: Recent Notes shows your latest note on the Home Screen or Lock Screen. Remember When brings back an older note each day or each hour. Tap a note to jump to that moment. • Siri, Shortcuts, and Spotlight: Find your notes, open a video at a note, or add a note at the current moment. • A new player, with a note editor you can pull down to scrub. ON THE LATEST iOS • Suggested Moments (beta): Hoof Notes finds the busiest stretches of a video and suggests them as places for a note. • Suggested Draft (beta): Tell it the sport, skill, or athlete to watch, and it drafts one coaching cue for an empty note. You edit it before saving. • Auto-Generated captions: See what was said in your videos, and find those words in search. • Star ratings from Photos show in the library, and you can filter by them. You can turn any of these features off in Settings. PERFECT FOR SPORTS LESSONS AND PRACTICES Use Hoof Notes for riding, gymnastics, tennis, soccer, skating, dance, baseball, and any sport where video helps you learn. In a riding lesson, you might mark: • A great canter transition • Feedback from your trainer • A jump you want to review • Something to practice before the next lesson • Your best attempt of the day YOUR VIDEO BECOMES YOUR NOTEBOOK Each note keeps the moment and the feedback together. Draw on the frame to circle a position or mark a stride. Notes can be up to 1,000 characters. FIND IMPORTANT MOMENTS FAST The Notes tab lists every note with its video's date and a frame from that moment. Search your notes, tap one, and the video opens right there. Filter the library by favorites, videos with notes, rating, or the places you ride. RECORD RIGHT IN THE APP Record with the built-in camera and flag moments while you film. The video saves straight to Photos. BUILD A RECORD OF PROGRESS Look back at earlier lessons, remember what you were working on, and see how your technique has changed. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your videos stay in Apple Photos. Hoof Notes never copies or uploads them. Your notes sync through your own iCloud account. Coach Mode, suggestions, and captions run on your iPhone. No accounts to create, no ads, and no third-party analytics. FREE TO START Create up to 50 notes for free. Your notes stay readable, editable, and shareable after that. Hoof Notes Unlimited removes the limit on new notes. It is available monthly or yearly. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. Requires iOS 17 or later. Coach Mode and generated captions need iOS 26 or later. Suggested moments, Suggested Draft, and star ratings need iOS 27. Suggested Draft needs an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence. iCloud is needed for sync and sharing, and everyone you share with needs the same video in their own Photos library.
