Houstory

Stop making your next move a zero data decision. Houstory is a movement for transparency and empowerment, transforming the rental process from a shot in the dark into a confident, data-backed choice. Most listing sites show you curated photos and amenities, but they fail to reveal the actual living experience. Houstory pulls back the curtain by aggregating public data and combining it with verified tenant insights to give you the "hidden history" of specific units—not just generic building reviews. Why Houstory? Verified Rental History: Access real insights from noise and pests to historical maintenance issues. Public Data Made Accessible: We track building violations, litigation history, and environmental hazards so you don't have to dig through complex government portals. Features to Empower Your Journey: The Search Tool: Instantly look up the history of a specific address. We overlay hidden data—like noise complaints and health hazards—directly onto listings so you can see the reality check before you sign. Tenant Resources: To help find a path out of a rental struggle, check out our tenant resources page. This contains links to community and city run resources to help people stay housed in their rentals. User Preferences: guide your search with support through customizing your tenant settings Visitor Checklist: insights into how to check a property like a pro for any potential havoc causing issues in the space
