AFOQT: Pilot Aptitude Test

Pilot Aptitude Test is a cognitive assessment suite designed to help aspiring pilots and aviation professionals prepare for the mental demands of pilot and air traffic controller selection programs. Built on well-established paradigms from cognitive psychology, Pilot Aptitude Test features ten scientifically grounded test modules covering working memory, digit recall, selective attention, sustained attention, perceptual speed, reaction time, numerical reasoning, associative memory, audio-visual processing, and spatial orientation. Whether you're preparing for airline cadet programs, military pilot selection, or air traffic controller assessments, Pilot Aptitude Test gives you the tools to train, track, and improve your cognitive performance. WHAT'S INSIDE? 6 CATEGORY AND 21 TEST MODULES COVERING KEY COGNITIVE DOMAINS CATEGORIES: Memory Attention Spatial Processing Coordination Simulation MODULES: Memory Span (Reverse) and Digit Span Digit sequences are played aloud one by one. Recall and enter them in reverse order. Measures how well you hold and manipulate information under pressure a critical cockpit skill. Tests both short-term memory capacity and working memory manipulation two distinct abilities assessed in pilot screening. Concentration Triangles appear with varying colors, orientations, and dot patterns. Identify matching properties based on changing rules. Tests your ability to filter relevant information and adapt to rule switches. Sustained Attention Respond to target letters among rapid distractors over an extended period. Based on the Continuous Performance Task paradigm, this measures your vigilance critical during long flights and monitoring. Perceptual Speed Cockpit-style dials flash briefly on screen. Read, memorize, and recall instrument values before time runs out. Measures how quickly and accurately you process visual information. Agility React to visual stimuli at unpredictable intervals while avoiding false triggers. Measures reaction time in milliseconds and evaluates speed-accuracy balance for split-second decisions. Mental Arithmetic and Number Series Solve chain calculations under increasing time pressure. Evaluates numerical reasoning speed the same demand pilots face during fuel calculations, descent planning, and real-time decision-making. Visual Memory Symbol–number pairs are displayed briefly. Memorize the associations, then match each symbol to its correct number. Measures your ability to rapidly encode and retrieve visual information. Audio Visual Memory Information arrives through audio and visual channels simultaneously. Memorize both, then recall what you heard and saw. The most demanding module testing multi-sensory processing and retention. Cube Rotation and Cube Folding Determine which rotated 3D cube matches the target orientation. Evaluates mental rotation ability relevant to navigation, orientation. Coordinate System Read distance, heading and rotations on a radar-style coordinate grid. Monitoring A cluster of dots appears on screen for a brief duration then disappears. Measures perception to rapid serial counting. KEY FEATURES 21 cognitive test modules based on published research Adjustable difficulty levels and round counts Detailed performance tracking with accuracy percentages Session history with per-module filtering WHO IS THIS FOR? Aspiring airline and military pilots preparing for cognitive aptitude screening Air traffic controller applicants practicing cognitive assessments Aviation cadets and students sharpening core mental abilities This app is an independent preparation tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with any official institution, organization, airline, or testing authority.
