About ShalloWeDive
Track your depth at a glance — right on your wrist, right underwater. ShalloWeDive is a real-time depth tracker for shallow water — down to about 6 meters — using the Apple Watch depth sensor, with an iPhone companion for your logbook, breath-hold training and course sheets. Snorkeling, freediving, spearfishing or a mermaid set: see depth, water temperature, heart rate and dive time the moment you go under. No phone signal, no internet — just your wrist and the water. Color-coded safety zones — safe (teal), caution (yellow), danger (orange) — tell you where you are without looking away from the water. Speak About the Day Tell an outing's page how the day went. Your iPhone turns your words into text, and — only after you allow it — a language model writes them up as a tidy record of the site, buddy, gear, conditions and notes, checked before keeping. A free preview, three a day, for a limited time. No recording leaves your iPhone. How Far You Actually Swam Dynamic apnea is scored in distance. Your wrist counts the wall turns of a pool swim and the rest screen shows it, marked "~" as the estimate it is. Correct it on your phone; the original stays beside it. The Clocks a Dive Computer Has — On Your Wrist and Your Buddy's Static, dynamic, tables, interval, stopwatch and surface interval, lit through Water Lock and wrist-down: - Static: the hold starts when your wrist goes under and ends on the Action button - Dynamic: the rest counts from the instant you surface — CO₂ sets or fixed-interval departures - Your phone's tables, run in the water - As breath-holder or buddy: one program, timed by the water on one wrist and by a tap on the other Breath-hold in water only with a trained buddy watching, never alone. Train Your Breath-Hold — On Dry Land The iPhone companion coaches classic apnea tables, no watch required: - CO₂ table, O₂ table, a static hold, or a table of your own - Every round runs a recovery first, then the hold - Voice announcements pace each phase, even with the phone locked Dive Under Your Own Discipline Freedive — one descent per surfacing, with a surface rest timer; Mermaid — a rehearsal set of short, shallow immersions with targets for depth, bottom time and dive count. On Your Watch - Real-time depth and water temperature from the depth sensor; heart rate during every dive - Multi-dive sessions with automatic dive counting, descent and ascent times within range - A dive logbook on your watch The iPhone Companion - Dives group into outings, searchable by site, buddy, tag or note; add gear, notes and a rating - Import another dive computer's log, export as UDDF or a spreadsheet - Dives sync from your watch automatically Your Course Sheet Taking a certification course? Keep its sheet on your phone: start from an agency level — AIDA, Molchanovs, PADI, SSI, CMAS — or from nothing, record results, attempts, pass dates and your instructor as the course goes, reshape it to what your instructor asks for, and see by when the next item is due. An Optional Cloud Logbook Sign in with Apple to keep every record the same on every iPhone you use, and safe if you replace one. Off until you turn it on; export or delete it at any time; your phone's logbook stays as it is. Beyond the Measurement Range Past about 6 meters, "No Limit" mode silences the depth alerts, shows a calm "beyond range" readout, and the logbook records the dive honestly as "6 m+". Private by Design Your logbook stays on your devices unless you choose otherwise: words go out only with your permission, the cloud logbook is off until you sign in, and the watch talks to no server. No tracking, no ads. Diving needs an Apple Watch with a depth sensor (Ultra, Ultra 2, Series 10 or later); breath-hold training runs on any iPhone. Speaking about the day needs iOS 26 and a connection. ShalloWeDive is a reference tool, not a replacement for certified equipment, proper training or safe diving practices. Always dive within your limits.
What’s new
Version 2.0.0 · Updated October 19, 2026
- Speak about a day in the water: once you allow it, a language model writes your words up as the outing's record. A free preview, three a day. - An optional cloud logbook and your course sheets: keep a certification course's sheet as it goes, and sign in with Apple to keep every record the same on every iPhone. - Help the app measure correctly: it can send its own diagnostic record over Wi-Fi while charging — never your logbook — and you can turn it off.
