Levain – Sourdough Companion

A calmer way to bake sourdough. Levain brings your recipes, starter care, bake schedule, and baking journal together in one thoughtfully illustrated companion. Every feature is free. No subscription, no locked features, and no account required. If Levain earns a place in your kitchen, you can leave an optional tip to support Judge Dean LLC. Tipping never changes what you can use. 58 ILLUSTRATED RECIPES Find your next loaf in a searchable collection of 58 recipes, each with its own artwork. Browse ingredients, hydration, and baking details, and save your favorites. A GUIDED BAKE, FROM STARTER TO SLICE Follow your bake with a clear timeline and step-by-step check-ins. Classic Boule includes same-day and overnight methods, with fold reminders, cold proofing, preheating, and cooling built into the plan. Plan around a ready-by time and record when you actually start or complete each step. REMINDERS THAT FIT YOUR KITCHEN Set starter feeding reminders and receive bake check-ins with notifications enabled. Keep the next step close at hand while you get on with your day. Timing estimates support your judgment; your dough and kitchen conditions still matter. YOUR STARTER, REMEMBERED Log feedings, flour and water amounts, ratios, peak observations, and notes. Look back at what worked and keep a useful record of your starter's routine. USEFUL BAKING TOOLS Calculate hydration, scale formulas, and work with baker's ratios. Track dough rise and save notes, photos, and a next-bake adjustment in your baking history. YOUR LOAF, IN 3D On a supported LiDAR-equipped iPhone, capture your finished loaf and build a textured 3D model on your device. Quick capture shows the photos still needed and tells you when you can stop moving. Full coverage lets you capture more angles, with the option to finish a quick model after 20 photos. Watch the model emerge through a cinematic point-cloud reveal, turn it to explore, place it in AR, or share the USDZ file. Capture and model building are separate steps; processing can take several minutes, and unseen surfaces may be incomplete. Scanning requires compatible hardware, while the rest of Levain remains available on supported iPhones. MADE FOR YOUR EVERYDAY BAKE An elegant new design, warm recipe artwork, thoughtful transitions, and support for Reduce Motion make Levain at home beside your mixing bowl. Free to bake. Tips always optional. Judge Dean LLC
