About DPSI Law: Interpreter Prep
DPSI Law: Interpreter Prep is a study app for people preparing for the UK Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (Law). You practise with spoken courtroom and police station dialogues, learn legal terms with flashcards, and track how ready you are for exam day. Exam mode Each line of a scenario is played once in a speaker's voice. Then you get a timed pause to interpret it, and the app records your answer. The text stays hidden unless you turn it on, as in the real exam. You can ask for a line to be repeated. At the end you can play each answer next to the original and mark the lines you want to try again. Voices for every speaker The judge, prosecutor, solicitor, police officer and defendant each have their own British voice, with accents from across the UK. You can change any voice and preview it before you choose. Playback runs from 0.5x to 1.5x speed. Rara Rara is the app's dinosaur helper. Tell her a topic and she writes a new flashcard deck or practice scenario for you. Generated content can contain mistakes, so check terms against a reliable source before using them in real work. Flashcards Make decks of legal vocabulary in your language pair. The app schedules reviews with spaced repetition, so you see difficult cards more often. Set your exam date and it adjusts how many cards you study each day. Scenarios The app comes with more than 40 dialogues in criminal law, family law, housing and civil, immigration and asylum, and police procedure. You can add your own scripts as well. Progress See your daily streak, a countdown to your exam, and charts of accuracy and mastery over time. Languages English, Farsi, Arabic, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Privacy There are no ads, no accounts and no tracking. Your decks, recordings and progress stay on your phone. Topics you send to Rara, and script lines read with the natural voices, go through our server to Google Gemini. The full privacy policy is linked below. This app is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Chartered Institute of Linguists or any exam body.
What’s new
Version 1.1.1 · Updated October 10, 2026
Speakers now sound like who they are. If a script calls someone "Mr." or "Ms.", or refers to them as "he" or "she", their voice matches. Scenarios you generate with AI get matching voices too.
