What’s new

Version 1.1 · Updated July 18, 2026

Version 1.1 — Our biggest update yet! WriteQuest now guides young writers through the whole writing journey — Plan, Write, Make It Better, Fix It Up, and Celebrate — instead of treating the first draft as the finish line. What's new: • 100+ new prompts across adventure, fantasy, mystery, sci-fi, sports, science, nature, opinion writing and more — plus a big "I Have My Own Idea!" button so kids can write about anything. • Feedback that's actually personal. WriteQuest reads your child's real writing and points to their own sentences — celebrating the strong words they used and gently showing exactly where a capital or period is missing. • Plan-first tools: story maps for fiction and idea webs for non-fiction, so kids organize their thinking before they write. • A revision step with a kid-friendly checklist and a "how do YOU feel about it?" self-rating — teaching real self-editing. • A personal Word Wall that collects the powerful words your child uses and invites them to reuse them next time. • Genre guides and short "see how a pro does it" example passages that teach the shape of each kind of writing. • 2-minute grammar mini-lessons that appear right when your child needs them — capitals, endings, run-ons, strong verbs, tricky word twins and more. Wrong answers get a friendly hint, never a red X. Happy writing!
