About Permission Browser

Permission is a family browser built to give parents clarity and control over how their children explore the web. Instead of handing a child an unrestricted browser, Permission creates a structured browsing environment where parents decide what’s allowed and how long it can be used. With Permission, parents can: • Approve specific websites through a whitelist • Block unwanted content before it loads • Set daily browsing time limits • See clear insights into browsing activity within the Permission platform • Help children understand why a page was blocked Every page is checked against parent-defined rules before it renders. If something isn’t allowed, the child sees a simple explanation — creating consistency instead of confusion. Browsing activity inside the Permission browser powers insights across the Permission platform, helping parents understand patterns and guide healthier digital habits. Permission is designed to balance independence and oversight — giving kids a usable browser experience while giving parents meaningful visibility and control. No ads. No unnecessary tracking. Just structured browsing and insights built for families.

What’s new

Version 2.0.0 · Updated October 22, 2026

A brand new look, made for kids. Browsing is brighter, simpler and easier to find your way around. New • Home and Browse are now one tap apart, with search that suggests the sites your parent has approved. • A "Safe" badge in the address bar shows when you're on an approved site. • Shared devices open on "Who's using it?" Pick your profile, then enter your PIN or ask a parent to approve the switch. • If the family plan lapses, kids see a friendly "Paused for now" screen instead of being signed out. Home keeps working, and everything picks up again once the plan is renewed. • Redesigned screens for connecting a device, with a roomier layout on iPad. Fixed • Screen time no longer counts faster than real time. • Pages with embedded content no longer show a false "External App Blocked" message. • Reinstalling the app no longer brings back an old device connection. • Refresh works again after a paused plan is renewed.
