Beyond Foreign

Beyond Foreign lets you talk with anyone, in your own language. You speak or write in yours; they hear and read it in theirs. VIDEO CALLS WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSLATION Turn on auto translation and just talk, no button to hold. An automatic interpreter listens to each participant and lets the others hear the translation in their language, as voice and captions, in about two seconds. The original voice stays audible in the background. Prefer reading? Switch to "subtitles only". VIDEO CALLS BY LINK, NO ACCOUNT FOR YOUR GUESTS Create a video call and share the link. Your guest opens it, types their first name and joins right away, no sign-up needed. Their language is remembered for next time. FOR COACHES AND ONLINE CLASSES A shared round timer controlled by the host, with a bell and a countdown everyone can see. Perfect for boxing, fitness or any interval class, even with students who don't speak your language. 70 LANGUAGES, INCLUDING THE ONES OTHERS FORGET English, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Swahili, Amharic, Hausa and many more. Wolof, Yoruba and a few other languages are available as experimental: translation may be approximate. AUTOMATICALLY TRANSLATED MESSAGES One-to-one and group chats, voice notes and photos. Everyone reads messages in their own language, with nothing to do. POCKET INTERPRETER Face to face, hand over your phone: the app translates the conversation both ways. TRANSLATED 1-TO-1 CALLS Call a contact by audio or video, with the same automatic translation. SAFETY AND PRIVACY - Your location is not collected. - Block or report a user in one tap. - Delete your account anytime from your profile. WHO IS IT FOR? Coaches and trainers with international students, families and friends separated by language, international teams and businesses, non-profits, welcoming newcomers, tourism and hospitality. PRICING The app is free and includes complimentary translation minutes. Translation minute packs are available as in-app purchases. In video calls, the host's minutes are used: only speech that is actually translated is counted. Minutes are shared between the iPhone app and the website with the same account.
