About Bible Speed Read
Read the Bible faster than ever while actually retaining what you read. Bible Speed Read uses RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) technology to help you read Scripture more efficiently. Words are displayed one at a time at your chosen speed, eliminating eye movement and allowing your brain to focus entirely on comprehension. Why RSVP Reading Works: • Reduces subvocalization (the habit of "speaking" words in your head) • Eliminates time lost to eye movement across lines • Increases focus by presenting one word at a time • Helps you enter a flow state for deeper engagement with the text Features: • Adjustable reading speed — go at your own pace, from beginner to advanced • Multiple Bible translations available • Pick up where you left off with automatic progress saving • Clean, distraction-free reading interface • Works offline — download translations for reading anywhere • Support for iPhone, iPad, and Mac Perfect For: • Busy people who want to read more Scripture • Anyone looking to improve their Bible reading habits • Speed reading enthusiasts • Those who struggle with focus during traditional reading Whether you want to read through the entire Bible or dive deep into a specific book, Bible Speed Read helps you engage with God's Word in a fresh, focused way.
What’s new
Version 1.3 · Updated May 23, 2026
What's New Continue Reading — your home screen now opens right where you left off. One tap and you're back in. Reading streaks — see consecutive days of reading on the home screen, with a built-in grace day each week so a single off-day doesn't undo weeks of progress. Personalized starting speed — new readers get a quick one-minute calibration to find a comfortable WPM. Change anytime in Settings. Warm-up mode — fresh reading sessions now ease in for the first 30 seconds instead of cold-starting at full speed. Toggle in Settings. Smoother sentence pacing — the brief pause at the end of a sentence now lingers on the period word itself, giving you an extra beat of comprehension. Offline downloads — download your translation under the publisher's terms so you can read without an internet connection. See Settings → Offline Downloads. Accurate verse numbers — switched to the official YouVersion SDK; verse numbers now match the publisher's markup. More accurate stats — chapters you swipe away from mid-session now count toward your totals. Reliability fixes — the reader no longer keeps playing in the background after you tap pause or dismiss, and the Continue Reading button opens the reader immediately even on slow networks. Translation update — NIV and ESV are available now. We've paused other translations while we work through proper licensing. Thanks for the feedback shaping this app — keep it coming.
