Nown: Phone Down, Together

Going offline is easier when you're not doing it alone. Start a session to block distracting apps and step into the moment you're actually in. Whether that's a walk around the park, coffee with friends, or unwinding with a good book. —— HOW IT WORKS: • Set a timer and start a Nown in one tap. Join others around the globe also currently in a session. • See which friends are offline right now, on your Lock Screen and Home Widget. • Invite friends to join your session, and form constellations together. • Finish your Nown and leave a star on the shared sky. View stars shared by others in the community. • Watch your sky fill in over time, into a living constellation filled with phone-free moments —— THE SCIENCE: Nown is built around a simple, research-backed idea: we're more likely to put the phone down when we can see other people doing it too. Behavioral scientists call it social proof. Seeing people close to you step away builds ambient accountability that solo willpower struggles to produce on its own. Nown turns that research into something you can actually see: a living constellation of who around you is choosing to be present right now, and a community prioritizing phone-free moments, together. —— BLOCK APPS & WEBSITES: You can use Nown to block any apps or websites on your iPhone or iPad during a session. You can also quickly select entire categories (Social Media, Gaming, Shopping, etc). During a Nown, blocked apps cannot be opened or send you notifications. You're always in control. • Instagram • X / Twitter • TikTok • Snapchat • Facebook • YouTube • LinkedIn • Netflix • Instagram • Messenger • WhatsApp • and more... —— BUILT FOR REAL LIFE: Nown is for people who realize their phone is getting in the way of life, and want to be distraction-free. It doesn't shame your screen time or how long to stay. It just makes it a little easier, and a little nicer, to get there. Nown. Own your now, with the people in it.
