What’s new

Version 1.2.8 · Updated October 9, 2026

NotationPlayer now speaks Spanish and German. Choose a language in Settings, or let it follow your device. The Getting started and Playing a tune help pages are translated too, and the rest of the guide is in English for now. Note names: alongside letters (C, D, E), notes can now be named in solfège (Do, Re, Mi) or the German way (C, D … H, with B for B flat). Automatic follows the language you use. Choir and vocal scores: - Voice parts now sound as a choir again, instead of saxophones. - Scores whose tenor part uses the treble clef with an 8 below now open (some MuseScore exports would not load). The tenor part is drawn as written and plays at the right pitch. - Part names are shown again, with their abbreviations (S., A., T., B.) on later lines, and the bracket that joins the voices is drawn. - Lyrics sit just below their notes instead of drifting towards the next staff. - The tempo mark written in the score is shown, and common and cut time are drawn with their C symbols. Mixer: a new Hide button takes a part off the score so you see only the lines you want, for example just your own voice. A hidden part keeps playing. The moving playback line now sits centred on the staves being played, instead of reaching far below them. Sets: playing from a selected note now carries straight on into the next tune, and the guitar keeps time after a tempo change. If a score can't be displayed, NotationPlayer now explains why in plain words and lets you report the file in one tap, so we can fix it.
