NomadCalc - Currency Converter

The cab hasn't even stopped and the driver already has a number ready. The stall doesn't have prices, just the vendor's word. The line behind you at checkout isn't getting shorter. You've got about three seconds to figure out if that number is fair, and most people just... don't. You round in your head, hope it's close enough, and hand over the cash. Do that for two weeks across three countries and you've quietly overpaid more times than you'd like to admit. NomadCalc is a currency calculator built for exactly that moment. It works offline, it already knows where you are, and it gets you to the right number before the driver notices you hesitated. WHAT IT ACTUALLY DOES ● Switches currency automatically, based on where you are Land at the airport, open the app, and it's already set to the local currency. No scrolling through a list of 160 countries with your bag still on your shoulder. ● A calculator that feels like the one already on your phone Round buttons, real number entry. If you've ever tried to type "12,345" into an app built for swiping and guessing, you know why this matters. ● Point your camera at a price tag, get the real number Menu boards and price tags in a language you can't read stop being a guessing game. Scan it, see it in your own currency. ● Keeps working when the signal doesn't It holds onto the last rate it pulled, so a dead zone in the mountains or spotty hotel wifi doesn't leave you stuck doing math on your fingers. ● Haggle Helper / Fee Check calls out a bad counter rate Type in what the currency counter is offering and their fee. Green if it's fair, red if you're getting fleeced. No guessing whether that "special rate" is actually special. ● A quick-reference table for when you don't want to type at all Numbers 1 through 10, already converted, right there. Useful for cab fares and street food where nobody's waiting for you to unlock your phone. ● Track your saved pairs over time Save the currencies you actually use and check the last 7 or 30 days at a glance. Not a trading tool — just enough context to know if today's rate is normal or worth waiting out. ● Nearby currencies, one tap away Crossing a border in a few days? See what's next door before you get there. ● 160+ currencies, searchable by name, code, or flag From the ones everyone knows to the ones you'll only ever use once. ● Home Screen widget The last selected rates stay on the Home Screen so you don't have to open the app for a glance. PRICING ● Free: core features, one ad a day ● Monthly: $0.99 — cancel whenever ● Yearly: $9.99 — works out cheaper than monthly ● Lifetime: $20 — pay once, done ● Free 7-day trial on paid features, cancel anytime at no cost Prices on the purchase sheet follow your App Store country. LANGUAGES English, Japanese, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Spanish, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Korean, German, Russian, Thai. The app includes Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Arabic. You don't need to become good at mental math on vacation. You just need the number to be right before you hand over the cash. That's what this is for. Location is only used when you open the app or tap to refresh — nothing is sent to us, and nothing runs in the background. Terms of use: https://nomad-calc.mjo.app/terms
