About Tesseract Network
Tesseract — private messaging that leaves no trail. No accounts. No phone numbers. No cloud history. Add a friend with a one-time invite code, pick an emoji for each other, and start talking. Every message is end-to-end encrypted; the relay only ever sees opaque bytes. Your identity lives in this device's secure keychain. Reinstall the app and it's gone — nothing is recoverable, from us or anyone else. What you get for free • End-to-end encrypted 1:1 chat (X25519 + AES-256-GCM) • Emoji-based contacts instead of names or numbers • Invite codes that expire in 24 hours or on first use • Notification Disguise — 10 preset alt-icons and lock-screen texts • App Lock with PIN + optional silent Duress PIN • Minimalist brutalist interface built for speed Unlock TESSERACT PLUS for the full suite • TOR ROUTING — every request tunneled through Tor; the relay sees an exit node, never you • GHOST TEXT — messages your eye reads but cameras average away • PIXEL SHATTER — text realigns only at the owner's viewing angle • CUSTOM TIMER — self-destructing messages that vanish from both phones • PHOTOS · VIDEOS · GIFS — end-to-end encrypted media • 30-DAY MAILBOX — missed messages held longer Tesseract does not have a "delete for everyone" button because there is nothing to delete. Messages don't live on a server. The relay is a dumb pipe. What’s new
Version 2.0 · Updated October 22, 2026
What's new in Tesseract 2.0 A new look • Titles are set in a new typeface, BT Brik. Rows and labels use the system font. • A new + on FRIENDS and GROUPS. • Connecting through Tor now gathers like a galaxy. The Safe • An encrypted vault with its own tab. A coin drops in when you open it. • Keep photos, videos, files and voice messages from any chat: hold one and tap Keep in Safe. • It opens with Face ID and can have its own Safe code. • Never backed up, never synced. It stays on this phone. Calls • Calls can ring like a phone call on the lock screen, with your friend's emoji. Answer without unlocking. • A new call screen, with SPEAKER even while it rings. • Calls start on the earpiece, or on your AirPods or car. • Choose how calls arrive in Settings › Calls. Messages • Six new message fonts with Plus. A message is drawn entirely in its font or entirely in San Francisco, never mixed. • New composer keys for ghost, font and timer, with a line that shows what's on. Security • Erase everything after 10 wrong PINs in a row, if you turn it on. • Your PIN is tied to the secure chip, so it can't be guessed offline. • Face ID after your PIN, if you want it. • Notifications only if you say so. Also • Move to a new phone: your identity, friends, chats and groups come with you. • More reliable delivery, with confirmations and fewer silent drops. • The Awards tab is gone.
