What’s new
Version 2.0.0 · Updated September 21, 2026
Pool Pilot 2.0 reads your test strip a new way. The app measures every color straight from the pixels of your own bottle's color chart, so the same photo gives the same result every time. CALIBRATED ON YOUR OWN STRIPS Calibration now works from the printed color chart on your bottle. Photograph the chart and the app locates every printed swatch and measures its color from the photo itself. Every reading after that is matched against the colors of the brand you actually use. THE SAME PHOTO, THE SAME RESULT Each pad on your strip is compared against your calibrated chart with the same arithmetic every time. Scan the same strip twice and you get the same numbers twice. MORE OF YOUR STRIP READ Total Hardness is now read whenever your strip carries a pad for it, alongside free chlorine, pH, alkalinity, cyanuric acid and the rest. READ FROM THE RIGHT END A strip photographed upside down is recognized and read from the correct end, with a note on the results so you can double check. ONE QUICK RECALIBRATION Existing calibrations need one fresh photo of your bottle's chart to move onto the new method. The app asks the next time you start a scan. Do it once and every scan after it stays consistent. The calibration guide now appears every time you calibrate, since the steps are easy to forget between bottles.
