About 4KWks - Life in 4,000 weeks
4KWKS IS COMPLETE This is the final release. Everything that was ever paid for is now free — unlimited tags, PDF export, all of it. No paywall, no upgrade prompt, nothing held back. If you've been using 4KWks, nothing changes except that more of it is yours. The app stays on the App Store, and once you've downloaded it, it's yours to redownload for as long as you want it. THERE'S A SUCCESSOR: PEER 4KWks proved the idea. Peer is what the idea deserved. The grid is still the centre of it, but the weeks aren't the only scale anymore — you write at the day, the week, the month, the year, and each one composes into the one above it. Eras and tags are finally separate things: an era is a stretch of time with a beginning and an end, a tag is a thing that recurs. 4KWks made you use one mechanism for both. Moving across takes about a minute. Export from Settings here, import there — Peer reads this app's file directly, nothing converted, nothing lost. You don't have to. Everything above is yours either way.
What’s new
Version 4KWks 1.1 · Updated September 18, 2026
4KWks is complete. This is the final feature release. Everything is unlocked. The paywall is gone. Unlimited tags and PDF export are now free for everyone, whether you paid before or not. If you bought Premium, thank you — you paid for something I'm now giving away, and that's the right way around. Peer is out. It's the successor, and I think it's a real improvement, not just a newer version. You write at the day, week, month and year now, and each scale composes into the next. Eras and tags are separate concepts instead of one overloaded one. The grid you know is still the heart of it. Settings has a permanent "Moving to Peer" section that walks you through it: export here, import there. Peer reads this app's export format directly — no conversion, no loss. You're not being pushed. If you'd rather stay, stay. The whole app is yours with no strings, and 4KWks remains on the App Store for the next 6–12 months. Also in this release: the app no longer makes any network calls at all. The backend it used to talk to is being retired, and nothing here needs it. Everything runs on your device. If you paid for 4KWks Premium and haven't heard from me directly, get in touch through Settings — there's something for you.
