About Plyos
What declines fastest after age 30? Not muscle mass. Not strength. Power. Muscle power drops 2-4x faster than muscle mass — and it's the strongest predictor of falls, loss of independence, and long-term function. The best tool to preserve it? Plyometrics. Plyos generates customized plyometric-focused workouts from a pool of hundreds of exercises. Press one button. Get a complete workout with warm-up, main exercises, and cooldown. Every workout is different. ONE BUTTON, FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE Generate a workout instantly, or tailor it to exactly what you need: - Workout duration (quick sessions to full training blocks) - Focus areas and target muscle groups - Effort level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) - Available equipment (bodyweight, boxes, hurdles, medicine balls, kettlebells, and more) Or don't customize at all. Just press the button. 900+ EXERCISES WITH VIDEO Browse a curated library of exercises, each with video demonstrations. Filter by difficulty, focus area, movement type, or equipment. Save your favorites or exclude exercises you don't want. Tap any exercise to watch it on YouTube. Exercises include: - Box jumps, depth jumps, and drop jumps - Bounding, hopping, and skipping drills - Upper body and medicine ball plyometrics - Single-leg and lateral movement patterns - Power, strength, mobility, and martial arts movements - Low-impact progressions for beginners INJURY PROTECTION Got injuries? Set protections for back, knee, shoulder, ankle, hip, or wrist. Plyos automatically avoids exercises that stress those areas. SMART WORKOUT FLOW During a workout, see what's coming up next, adjust rest periods, and long-press any exercise to get details or swap it out. TRACK YOUR PROGRESS Log every workout automatically. View your training history with full exercise details, training frequency, and exercise variety across sessions. Tap weekly or monthly stats to see a day-by-day breakdown. Create a free account to sync across devices — or don't. The app is fully functional without one. Sign in with Google, Apple, or email. WORKS OFFLINE Your exercise library, saved workouts, and training history are always available — no internet required. COMPLETELY FREE No ads. No subscriptions. No in-app purchases. Plyos was built by someone who didn't want to get slower, weaker, or less explosive with age. If that sounds like you, start training with purpose.
What’s new
Version 1.0.47 · Updated October 8, 2026
HOME SCREEN 1. Ember Pulse home screen — The Workout tab has a new look: a glowing pulse-bar field showing your recent training volume, a headline greeting (pulled from a large bank of lines, long-press to reroll), and a streak line. The Ember Pulse styling rolls out to every tab. 2. Tappable pulse bars — Tap the pulse field for a training summary (last month / last quarter); long-press a bar to see that day's minutes. 3. Week streak fix — Your week streak now only breaks after a gap of more than 9 days, so shifting your weekly workout day no longer resets it or makes it fluctuate from day to day. 4. Quick duration/warm-up sheet — A small chip under "Create Workout" opens a sheet to change workout duration and warm-up without digging into Settings. 5. Discard a paused workout — A "Discard Workout" link on the paused-workout card, and long-pressing the exit (X) in the workout player, now lets you throw a workout away (with confirmation). ONBOARDING & SETTINGS 6. Quick, skippable onboarding — New users can optionally set sex, birthdate, gear, experience level, and joint protections up front across five short steps, with "Skip setup" always available. 7. Equipment gets its own Settings section — Its gear list is expanded by default, and onboarding gear choices are based on what exercises actually use. 8. Workout Defaults tidy-up — Sections reordered, with Movement expanded by default. 9. Simpler Favorite Boost — The 1–5x slider is replaced by Off / 5x / 10x. Existing settings snap to the nearest level. 10. Mute all audio — A new setting (Quick Settings and Settings > Exercise Library) silences every video clip and the workout timer's beeps, bells, and knocks. It is stored on your device only. 11. Mute button in the workout — A speaker button in the workout header mutes and unmutes instantly without pausing. The header was rebalanced so "Exercise X of N" stays centered. WORKOUT GENERATION 12. Shorter, adjustable rest — Default rest now follows intensity (low 30s, medium 45s, high 60s; previously 90s). The Rest Periods setting adjusts rest from -30s to +30s in 10-second steps. Previously saved reductions carry over. 13. More varied sets — Exercises get 1, 2, or 3 sets (weighted toward 2) with reps that follow the set count, instead of near-identical blocks. Even rep ranges always produce even reps, and exercises that alternate sides always get an even total so neither side gets an extra rep. 14. Better time-fitting — Generation now budgets rest after every set, matching the workout timer, so the workout lands closer to your requested duration. METRICS & RANKINGS 15. Drop Jump — A new Jump metric that computes Reactive Strength Index (rebound height ÷ ground contact time), with a modeled percentile ranking normalized to a standard drop height. Drop height is required; notes explain that manual stopwatch timing is imprecise without a jump-timing app or contact mat. 16. More VO2 Max tests — VO2 Max can now be logged from the Cooper 12-Minute Run, Rockport 1-Mile Walk, or 20m Shuttle Run, all ranked against the 2022 FRIEND treadmill dataset. VO2 Max joins the Rankings summary strip. 17. "How to do this test" — Every metric now has a "?" button explaining how to perform the test and how it's ranked, available before you log anything. 18. Broad Jump in the Rankings strip — Broad Jump now appears in "Your Rankings." SHARING 19. Share card refresh — The share card has a brighter ember-gradient look, a random greeting headline in place of the tagline, and sets × reps per exercise. Long-press Share Workout in History to reroll the greeting. EXERCISE LIBRARY 20. New exercises — 40 exercises added from the October 2026 batch: single-leg plyometrics (single-leg pogos, single-leg box jump variations, Bulgarian split squat jumps, Russian lunges), isometric strength work (overcoming/yielding isometrics, split squat rack iso pulls), bounding and power skips, and quick pogo/hop drills. The library now totals 931 exercises.
