About QuantumPass
QuantumPass brings two worlds together: a password and key generator, and a small lab to discover quantum randomness. GENERATE • Passwords from 8 to 64 characters: lowercase, uppercase, digits, symbols, ambiguous-character exclusion, forbidden characters and required characters. The estimated entropy is shown with each result. • Diceware passphrases of 3 to 10 words, in French or English depending on the app language, with the separator of your choice. Strengthen a phrase with randomly drawn capitals, substitutions and suffix. • QRNG: 1 to 100 random bits, in binary, decimal, hexadecimal or Base64. • Blockchain RNG: 128 to 512-bit values in Hex, Base64 or Base58, for your keys and seeds. • All these values come from Apple's cryptographic generator. UNDERSTAND • BB84 demo: follow the key exchange between Alice and Bob, and watch Eve the eavesdropper given away by the error rate. • Qubit Lab: measure a simulated qubit in the Z or X basis and watch the statistics build up. • Bloch sphere: set the θ angle and compare theoretical probabilities with measured frequencies. • Reproducible mode: a seed to replay the same demonstration, in class or in a workshop. • PRNG vs TRNG: two animated panels to see the difference between simulated and hardware randomness. • Built-in tutorial and a 10-question quiz. PRACTICAL • Secure clipboard: whatever you copy stays on the device and is cleared after 60 seconds. • In French and English, on iPhone, iPad and Mac. • Tip Jar: support development right from the app. PRIVACY QuantumPass works offline. All calculations are performed on your device. No account, no ads, no data collected. QuantumPass is an educational tool: its "quantum generator" is a simulation, fed by the system's secure random source.
What’s new
Version 1.1 · Updated October 3, 2026
What's new in version 1.1: • New colours: on every screen, settings are blue, results are green and explanations are violet. Layout and navigation are unchanged. • Diceware passphrases: words are French or English depending on the app language (English EFF list, 7772 words). 6 words by default, 3 to 10. Strengthening a phrase works with any separator, with optional L33T substitutions. • Reproducible mode in the BB84, Qubit Lab and Bloch demos: enter a seed and replay the same experiment, in class or in a workshop. • Passwords: required characters ("at least one character from…") are always honored, and a clear message warns you if they conflict with your forbidden or ambiguous characters. The entropy shown is computed from the alphabet actually used. • Secure clipboard: whatever you copy stays on your device (never sent to the universal clipboard) and is cleared after 60 seconds. • A single, secure random source: passwords, passphrases, numbers and keys all come from Apple's cryptographic generator. The pseudo-random mode has been removed from the generators; the Education screen still explains the difference between PRNG and TRNG. • QRNG: the decimal value is exact up to 100 bits. • Bloch sphere: measured frequencies match the theoretical probabilities. • Language: the app follows your device language; you can pick Français or English in "About" without leaving the current screen. Translations completed. • Accessibility: VoiceOver labels in the navigation, clearer icons and better legibility at large text sizes.
