myBuddy Cambodia

Have you ever received change in TWO different currencies... at the same time? In Cambodia, this happens with every purchase. The country runs on a dual-currency system where US dollars and Cambodian riel (KHR) are used side by side. Prices can be listed in either currency. You can pay in dollars, riel, or a mix of both. And your change? That often comes back in both currencies too. For visitors, this creates a genuinely confusing experience... especially when you're also trying to understand values in your own home currency. Standard currency converters don't help because they only work between two currencies at a time, they require internet, and they don't know about the "common rate" that Cambodian vendors actually use. myBuddy was built specifically for this problem. THREE-WAY CONVERTER Enter an amount in USD, KHR, or your home currency and instantly see the equivalent in all three. No switching between screens. No mental arithmetic. COMMON RATE TOGGLE Most shops and tuk-tuk drivers in Cambodia use a simple rate of 4,000 KHR to $1, which differs from the official exchange rate. myBuddy lets you switch between the official rate and the common vendor rate so you know what to expect. CAMBODIAN NOTE VALUES Unfamiliar with a 10,000 riel note? See exactly what each Cambodian banknote is worth in your own currency at a glance. WORKS OFFLINE Whether you're in the jungle, exploring the temples of Angkor Wat, relaxing on the islands of Koh Rong, or navigating the markets of Phnom Penh, myBuddy works without an internet connection. MONEY TIPS & CULTURAL CONTEXT Practical advice on ATMs, carrying cash, tipping, and how transactions really work in Cambodia... the things guidebooks don't always cover. myBuddy Cambodia is designed for travelers navigating real-world cash transactions. It is not a financial trading tool. Exchange rates vary between vendors, and this app provides a practical guide to help you pay with confidence, giving you peace of mind to enjoy your visit.
