About Foster Kitten

Foster Kitten helps caregivers track kitten health, make more informed care decisions, and communicate more effectively with veterinarians and shelters during the first 12 weeks of life, when kittens are at their most fragile. Tracking Log daily weights, feedings, solid food, symptoms, medications, photos, and clinical notes. When your hands are full, use hands-free voice logging to record weights, feedings, and stool observations. Snap a photo of your kitten's stool for an instant assessment powered by KittenAI. Foster Kitten helps you monitor key indicators, including growth, feeding, stool quality, and upper respiratory symptoms, so changes don't go unnoticed. Track socialization as a daily practice across handling, sounds, surfaces, and social experiences. Browse a library of care resources and age-appropriate development guides. By applying veterinary research and established care standards to your data, Foster Kitten highlights when growth and health are on track, and when something may warrant a vet conversation. When it does, you can record what your vet said. Designed for Foster Care Whether you're caring for your first bottle baby or managing a full litter, Foster Kitten is built for real foster workflows. Track mother cats alongside their litters with queen care tools for nursing, mammary health, and reproductive milestones. Record the shelter-assigned Animal ID and source organization for each kitten. With Baby Book, document developmental milestones to create a keepsake that travels with your kitten to their forever home. Built for Shelters and Rescues With Shelter Edition, shelters, rescues, and clinics can manage their foster network and see each caregiver's availability, experience, and home environment when placing kittens. With caregiver consent, they can follow a kitten's records in real time for more timely, better-informed care conversations. Organizations can request Shelter Edition in Account Settings at no additional cost. What’s new

Version 3.4.0 · Updated September 29, 2026

WHAT’S NEW IN VERSION 3.4.0 INTRODUCING SOLID FOOD Solid Food is a new log for weaning and weaned kittens. Record what was offered, how the kitten responded, and how much was eaten—with optional details such as the amount offered, appetite, and water. Each meal receives an assessment. The Solid Food tab appears automatically when a kitten reaches weaning age, and solid food history is included in exported reports. RECORD VETERINARY CONSULTATIONS When a weight or stool assessment suggests contacting your veterinarian, you can record Vet consulted, Vet seen, or Monitoring at home—and add notes about what your vet said. Your selection appears briefly on the related entry. All consultations are saved in a new Consultations tab under Records and included in exported reports. Add a recheck date, and Foster Kitten will remind you that morning. MORE COMPREHENSIVE FEEDING RECORDS • Refused feeds can now be recorded. Choose “Refused (took nothing)” when a kitten turns down a feed. Refusals are included in the day’s feeding summary. SHARE REPORTS WITH YOUR ORGANIZATION If your organization uses Shelter Edition, you can provide live, read-only access to your kitten’s data with your consent. Shelters, rescues, and clinics can request Shelter Edition in Account Settings at no additional cost. It includes tools to manage a caregiver network, view caregiver information—including availability, experience, and home environment—and access kitten data in real time with caregiver consent. These features make communication between organizations and foster caregivers detailed, timely, and seamless. OTHER IMPROVEMENTS • Tapping a reminder opens the kitten’s Records on the relevant tab: vaccines, procedures, spay/neuter, or rechecks. • Feeding amounts now use the number pad, which also works with a hardware keyboard. • Procedure dates, vaccination dates, and socialization sessions now save on the correct day in time zones east of UTC, including Europe, Asia, and Australia. • Members on a free trial can now choose the Basic plan. • Saving a profile setting no longer closes the current screen. Foster Kitten reflects what your records show and helps you recognize when it may be time to speak with your veterinarian. It does not diagnose or replace veterinary care. Thank you for your practice of care.
