ArkOfEthiopia

Ark of Ethiopia is your comprehensive digital companion for the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. Designed to support your daily spiritual journey, this app brings together essential resources, liturgical information, and inspirational content in one convenient interface. Whether at home or traveling, Ark of Ethiopia provides tools to stay connected to your faith and church traditions. The core is the integrated Ethiopian Calendar, accurately displaying Ethiopian dates alongside Gregorian dates. It highlights important feasts, fasts, and holidays based on the official church year. Tap any day for details or schedule personal events in your device's native calendar, blending spiritual life with daily planning. A date picker allows navigation to any month and year. Explore the extensive Prayers & Books section. This library offers essential texts like Wudassie Mariam, the Psalms (Mizmure Dawit) in Ge'ez and Amharic, liturgical books (Sirate Mahlet), Sa'atat, Kidan, Melkea Melke, Demetros, and Bahre Hasab. Texts are organized by category and language (Amharic/English folders), making it simple to find readings. Navigate individual chapters or sections within the app. Engage with the Audio Logs feature. Listen to recordings of sacred chants, services, readings, hymns, and teachings. Content is organized into categories like Nibabat (Readings) and Mizmure Dawit. Expand or collapse sections for easy browsing. Select tracks to listen using the built-in player with standard controls. Receive spiritual nourishment with the Bi-Weekly Verse feature. Based on the Ethiopian Lectionary (Gitsawe), the app presents curated readings every two weeks, including a Psalm and passages relevant to the period. Reflect on the verses and deepen understanding. A share button allows sharing the Psalm. On compatible devices, it generates a beautiful image card for social media or messaging. Stay informed about the church year with the Feasts and Fasting section. Drawing from the calendar and holiday calculations, it lists major and minor feasts, saints' days, and fasting periods for the current year. Separated into "Feasts" and "Fasts" tabs, you can quickly see upcoming events. Each entry includes the name, description, and dates (Ethiopian/Gregorian). Personalize your experience with Favorites. On the home screen, tap the heart icon next to any main feature (Calendar, Prayers, Audio, Feasts, Verse). The icon turns red, adding it to your collection. Access saved features instantly via the dedicated Favorites tab. Ark of Ethiopia includes support features: learn about the mission on the About page, invite friends using the share function, provide feedback, contact support, and connect with the community via Instagram and Telegram links.
