Washcast: Laundry Weather

Will your washing dry outside today? Washcast reads the weather where you are and gives you one straight answer, plus a drying window for every fabric on the line. WHY IT IS NOT JUST A WEATHER APP Humidity decides whether washing dries, not temperature. A cold bright breezy day will dry a load faster than a warm muggy still one, and no ordinary forecast tells you that. Washcast works it out from temperature, humidity, wind, sunshine and rain, then tells you what to do about it. A DRYING TIME FOR EVERY FABRIC Towels hold far more water than a cotton shirt, so one estimate for a whole load is close to useless. Washcast gives each item its own window, from swimwear to duvets, and tells you which things will still be damp when the light goes. WHAT YOU GET One clear verdict Whether today is worth putting a wash on, in plain English. Per-fabric drying windows Towels, sheets, jeans, shirts, socks and more, each with its own time. An alert before rain A heads-up when a shower is heading for the line, so a full load does not get caught out. The days ahead A five-day outlook so you can pick your day rather than hope for one. Works in any city Set your location anywhere in the world. No account, no sign-up. WHO IT IS FOR People without a tumble dryer. Households trying to use one less. Flat dwellers with a balcony and one good hour. Anyone who has rewashed a load that came in smelling worse than it went out. Drying outside costs nothing and is kinder to your clothes than heat. Washcast just helps you catch more of the days that work.
