New - Particles: a new kind of layer material with ten GPU particle systems, plus 22 new factory presets made with them. - ProRes 422 HQ recording (saved as .mov) on supported devices. Pick it next to H.264 in Recording Settings. - More video formats: AVI (including DV), QuickTime Animation, PNG, HAP, CineForm and DNxHD. - Support for .m4a audio files (AAC and Apple Lossless), including the ones Logic Pro exports by default. - User Materials folders: create, rename and delete them from VS. Each folder gets its own entry in the material browser. - New "+" tile and NEW button in the material browser to create a shader in the current folder. - Custom banks can now be created, renamed and deleted. Renaming a bank keeps its media, playlists and favorites. - Author field in the save dialog. Presets now show their author in the list. - Several cameras at once on iPads that support it, external cameras included. A camera that can't run shows a warning on its layer. Improved - Recordings at 1440p and 4K keep much more fine detail. - Large images load in the background, so the interface no longer stalls. - A spinner shows on the layer while a file from Files or Photos loads. - "Finishing recording…" indicator, and a new recording can't start until the file is ready. - The material browser lists Texture Effects and User Materials with the other shaders. Categories have icons and remember if they were folded. - Buttons, toggles and list rows light up when pressed. Tapping the label next to a toggle now toggles it. - Factory presets show the artist as author instead of in the name. Playlists that refer to a factory preset by its old name will no longer find it. Fixed - Recordings looking lighter or with shifted colors in QuickTime, Photos and Safari. - Missing first frames, audio drifting out of sync, audio left over from a previous recording, and uneven frame timing. - The Recording parameter staying on after a failed recording, and needing two taps after press-and-hold. - QuickTime Animation, greyscale, 10-bit and HDR10 videos opening with an empty layer. - Relocate Missing Media not relinking shader textures. Relinked media and textures now survive an app restart. - The interface freezing while a file from iCloud loaded, and the file landing on the wrong layer. - A camera layer freezing when a second camera was started. - Layer arrows doing nothing for your own media. - Importing shaders with # or % in the file name. - Material browser jumping to the top after deleting, renaming, duplicating, importing or saving a material. - Shader editor preview stuttering and ignoring SPEED, and a grey bar on the right edge with Increase Contrast on. - Thumbnails frozen for Output layers, and several crashes.
