About Color Archive
Create custom palettes for different projects, adding colors using RGB, hex codes, or the native eyedropper tool. Organize colors within their palettes, name them, and export them for use elsewhere. Color Archive is a straightforward, reliable tool built to help makers keep their aesthetics sorted with no bloat and no fluff. It's also free, with no ads or hidden fees. Features: • Create, edit, organize, and export custom color palettes • Add colors manually via hex and RGB, or visually using the eyedropper • Export palettes as PNG images, text files, CSVs, or developer-ready CSS code • Palettes and colors automatically sync between your Mac, iPhone, and iPad via iCloud • Completely free to download and use, with no ads or hidden fees
What’s new
Version 1.0.3 · Updated May 20, 2026
Recently, I noticed that when exporting palettes to CSS, custom color names with brackets or numbers were creating invalid variables and breaking stylesheets. I've rewritten the export logic so your custom names translate perfectly into usable code. I also squashed an annoying bug where macOS Gatekeeper would mistakenly flag synced iCloud exports as suspicious. I've also spent time designing proper empty states. Instead of staring at a blank screen wondering what to do next, you'll now see a clear button right in the center of the grid to start building your palette.
