Lettie is a pen-pal app where letters fly across a globe. You write a letter tonight. It takes off, crosses the ocean at the real distance between your two cities, and lands tomorrow. Seoul to Tokyo takes a couple of hours; Seoul to New York, seventeen. Nothing is instant, so people write like it matters. ■ Letters travel real distance Delivery time is computed from the actual distance between you and your pen pal: at least 30 minutes, at most a day. You can watch your envelope move across the globe, and you get a nudge when it is about to land. ■ Pick up a stranger's letter In Discover, people release letters into the sky. Three new envelopes drift close every day. Open one, read it, and write back if it moves you. That is how most friendships on Lettie begin. ■ Translation in a tap, 70+ languages Every letter has a translate button. Read the original and the translation side by side. Language is not a barrier here; distance is the fun part. ■ Show up as a character, not a selfie Everyone starts as one of sixteen pixel characters, or turns a selfie or a few words into their own character in the same style. The first one is free, and the photo is only used for the drawing, never stored. There are no profile photos. The first thing anyone learns about you is how you write. ■ Lettie Passport — a stamp for every country Exchange five or more letters with people from a country (at least two each way) and its stamp lands in your passport, along with that country's postage stamp for your album. Collect stamps to earn titles like “World Pen Pal”, which show next to your name on your letters and profile. ■ Letters take turns You can write to the same person again only after their reply lands. That one rule keeps conversations calm and honest. If three days pass after your letter arrives with no reply, you can send one more. ■ Someone to meet today A few cards a day, chosen by interests and the kind of people you want to meet.
