About CereVault

CereVault is a private AI chat app for Mac, iPad, and iPhone. It talks to language models running on your own machine or local network (Ollama, LM Studio, and CereVault Serve), so your conversations stay under your control. No account, no subscription, no telemetry. WHY CEREVAULT • Private by design: models run locally, so your prompts, files, and chats stay on your hardware. • Works with what you already use: auto-discovers Ollama, LM Studio, and CereVault Serve on your machine or network. • One app everywhere: runs natively on Mac, iPad, and iPhone. AGENT MODE Turn on Agent mode and your local model can do more than chat: • Search the web with no setup (DuckDuckGo), or add your own Brave Search key, and see the sources each answer used • Remember durable facts about you, stored on your device • Read files from folders you explicitly grant • Write, move, or delete files: off by default, and every change asks first • Use external tools through MCP servers: every call asks first You stay in control. Every tool action appears inline, and CereVault checks searches and tool calls for emails, phone numbers, card numbers, and API keys, and asks before sending anything that contains them. WORKSPACES Create separate workspaces, each with its own tools, memory, folders, permissions, model, and chats. Keep a locked-down read-only research space and a separate one that can edit a project folder. AUTOMATIONS Schedule a saved prompt to run every few minutes, hourly, or daily. CereVault runs the agent and saves the result as a new chat. Runs are read-only unless you allow changes. MORE • Streaming replies: answers appear as your model writes them • Vision: attach images for vision-capable models • Voice dictation: uses on-device speech recognition where available • Markdown rendering: headings, code blocks, tables, and lists • Smart chat titles: your model names each conversation for you • Drag-and-drop attachments, adjustable text size, and one-tap Copy or Copy as Markdown PRIVACY CereVault has no accounts and no analytics. Chats and memory are stored on your device, and keys are kept in the system Keychain. If you use web search, only the search query is sent to the search provider (DuckDuckGo, or Brave if you add a key), and you're asked first if it looks like it contains personal data. Bring your own local models and keep every conversation yours.

What’s new

Version 3.2 · Updated October 18, 2026

Replies now stream in as they're written, plus a handful of fixes. • Streaming replies: answers appear as your model writes them instead of all at once. • Add a folder from the chat: in Agent mode, the paperclip menu now has "Add Folder for Agent" so you choose where it works. It can also create new folders, with your OK first. • Web search follow-ups fixed: asking again about the weather or the news now runs the search instead of showing raw text. • Cleaner replies: hidden reasoning text from some Gemma models no longer shows up. • Drag and drop images from Finder onto the message box to attach them (Mac and iPad).
