ZapCards: Active Recall

Turn your notes, a photo of a textbook page, or a whole PDF into a deck of flashcards in seconds — then let ZapCards schedule every review for the moment right before you'd forget. Free to download, and free to start: unlimited cards and folders, spaced repetition, CSV import, iCloud sync, and your first 5 AI generations are all included. MAKE A DECK IN SECONDS WITH AI Paste your lecture notes, snap a photo of a page, or drop in a PDF. ZapCards reads it and writes clean question-and-answer cards for you. Every card appears as it's written, so you can read them as they come, delete the ones you don't want, and edit anything before you save. An evening of typing becomes about thirty seconds. SPACED REPETITION, DONE PROPERLY ZapCards schedules reviews with the SuperMemo SM-2 algorithm — decades of memory research, built in. Cards you find hard come back sooner; cards you know well drift further away. You spend your study time on the material you're actually about to forget, and nowhere else. ACTIVE RECALL, NOT RE-READING Highlighting and re-reading feel productive and rarely stick. ZapCards makes you retrieve the answer before you see it, then rate how it went with one tap. That act of retrieval is what builds the memory. YOUR DAY, AT A GLANCE The Today tab opens on what's due right now, your current streak, and a 7-day forecast of what's coming — so you always know whether you're two minutes from done or twenty. ORGANIZE IT HOWEVER YOU THINK Group cards into folders with emoji icons and live due counts. Jump back into anything you added recently. Import an existing deck from CSV or TSV, and bring your cards over from whatever you were using before. GO DEEPER ON ANY CARD Add follow-up notes, images, and voice recordings to the cards you keep getting wrong. Instead of an isolated fact, you build the context around it — which is how the material actually becomes usable. EVERYTHING, ON EVERY DEVICE iCloud sync keeps your cards, images, and review history current across your iPhone and iPad automatically. Nothing to set up. BUILT TO GET OUT OF THE WAY A calm, uncluttered interface, designed so the only thing on screen is the thing you're trying to learn. ZapCards Pro unlocks unlimited AI generation, voice recordings, and advanced review settings. Everything else stays free.
