Okay, this is the big one. We've been heads down for months rebuilding Whistlr. Not just stacking new stuff on top, but going back into the parts that felt slow or clunky and redoing them properly. Version 5 is the paradigm shift we been cooking for a long time .. Here's everything that's new. A VIDEO EDITOR, BUILT RIGHT IN You know the routine: film something, open a different app to edit it, export, come back, upload, hope the quality survived. We wanted that gone. Whistlr now has its own video editor with hundreds of filters, hundreds of effects, and your favorite music to put on top. Add stickers, layer it up, make it look how you pictured it. Everything happens in one place, from the first clip to the post. FLICKS: POST IT, LIVE IT, LET IT GO Not everything needs to sit on your profile forever. Flicks are short-life posts for whatever is happening right now: the view, the outfit, the thought you had at 2am. Your people see it, and then it's gone. Throw a poll or a sticker on it so friends can answer back instead of just tapping through. You decide what goes up and who gets to see it. NEARBY: FEEDS FOR REAL PLACES This is the one we're most excited for you to try. Nearby lets you create a feed tied to a location. Your campus. The venue you're at tonight. Your block. A festival. Post what's going on and see what everyone else in the same spot is sharing, as it happens. You can even go live straight into a Nearby feed, so the people around you (and the people wishing they were there) can tune in. MESSAGES, REBUILT FROM SCRATCH We'll say it: messaging wasn't where it needed to be. So we rebuilt the whole thing. Chats open faster. Scrolling back through old messages is smooth. Typing, sending, reacting, and bouncing between DMs and group chats all feel the way they should, like a conversation and not a loading screen. And there's something new in there: Audio Rooms. Start a voice room right inside your messages and just talk. Made for the group chat that has too much to say for typing. LIVE: NOW YOU'RE PART OF IT Watching a live used to mean just watching. Now you can participate in live streams, right in the moment with the person streaming and everyone else in the room. If you're the one going live, we cleaned up the whole flow. Starting, running, and ending a stream takes less effort. You can stream from your phone and external software at the same time, so a casual hang and a full setup both work. And you can pick a live category, which helps the right people find your stream. EVERYTHING IS FASTER Uploads are quicker, so there's less staring at a progress bar. Login and sign up take fewer steps, the error messages tell you what went wrong, and getting back in on a new phone is a lot less painful. EASIER TO MOVE AROUND There's new navigation at the top of your feed. Swipe or tap to jump between feeds and features without digging through menus. Browse got a cleanup too: a calmer layout, less noise, and more of the conversations, creators, and communities you'd stop scrolling for. DRAFTS: POST IT WHEN YOU'RE READY Made something but not sure about it yet? Save it as a draft. Nothing has to go up the second you finish it. Sit on it, come back later, change the caption five times, and post when it feels right. Or never. Your call. PLAYLISTS UP TO 60 SONGS Your custom playlists can now hold up to 60 songs. Room for the moods, the eras, the deep cuts. Enough that someone can land on your profile and get you from the music alone. That's the update. There's also a long list of smaller fixes we won't bore you with. Go try it. Make a Nearby feed, open an Audio Room, edit something. Then tell us what's working and what's not.
