About Simple Spin Pro
Simple Spin Pro turns your Echelon bike into a serious training tool — or the perfect companion for streaming rides. One app, two ways to ride. Build the exact interval session you want in about a minute and ride it while your bike changes its own resistance to match. Or keep your metrics on screen while you watch Netflix, YouTube, and more. Add a Bluetooth heart rate strap and see your heart rate live, too. THE SMART WORKOUT WIZARD Pick a shape and Simple Spin Pro writes the intervals: • Repeating — the classic work / recovery session • Progressive — every round a little harder than the last • Pyramid — climb to a peak, then come back down • Custom — build it interval by interval Then choose how round length moves: the same every round, longer, shorter, or up to a peak and back. Nothing starts blank. The whole workout is there before you change anything — named, rated for difficulty, and drawn as a profile you can read at a glance. YOUR BIKE FOLLOWS THE WORKOUT • Every interval applies its resistance to your Echelon the moment it starts • In Power mode, Simple Spin Pro reads your live cadence and calculates the resistance needed to hold your target watts • Spoken cues announce what is coming before it arrives • Adjust up or down mid-ride — your saved workout stays exactly as you built it LIVE HEART RATE Wear any standard Bluetooth heart rate monitor and your heart rate rides with you: • Live BPM in both structured Workouts and Just Ride • A heart rate trend across your workout profile • Average and max heart rate for every ride and every interval • Saved to Apple Health with your workout • Connect once — your strap reconnects on its own next time Most straps connect to only one device at a time. If yours will not connect, make sure it is not already connected to your watch, another phone, or another app. MAKE IT YOURS • Add an interval anywhere, delete one, or change its type, length, or target • Tap any value to set it exactly • Train by Echelon resistance, 1 to 32, or by watts, 10 to 500 W Edit anything and difficulty, profile, name, and spoken coach announcements all keep up. BUILD IT. RIDE IT. KEEP IT. • Tap Save & Start Ride and you are pedaling the workout you just built • Every workout is saved to your library • Share a session with a friend, or import theirs, from a single link • Workout history shows your consistency over time • Every completed ride syncs to Apple Health automatically RIDE AND STREAM Watch Netflix, Apple TV, Prime Video, YouTube, and more while your cadence, resistance, and power stay visible in rock-solid Picture-in-Picture, foreground or background. JUST RIDE Not every session needs a plan. Just Ride gives you live metrics and nothing else: cadence, resistance, power, heart rate, speed, distance, calories, elapsed time. BETTER TOGETHER: SIMPLE INSIGHTS Your subscription also unlocks Simple Insights, our companion app for deeper Apple Health–powered analysis of trends, training load, and progress. Same Apple Account, no extra purchase. KEY FEATURES • Purpose-built for Echelon Bluetooth smart bikes — connects in seconds • Your own structured workouts, with no class subscription and no instructor • Automatic resistance control throughout every structured ride • Power-based and resistance-based training modes • Live heart rate from any standard Bluetooth heart rate monitor • Zero ads, zero distractions UNLOCK EVERYTHING WITH PRO The Smart Workout Wizard and full workout library, automatic resistance control, background Picture-in-Picture, and Simple Insights access. What’s new
Version 2.2.4 · Updated October 24, 2026
2.2.4 — Your heart rate, live on the bike. Put on a Bluetooth heart rate strap and Simple Spin Pro now shows your heart rate as you ride, right next to cadence, resistance, and power. NEW — BLUETOOTH HEART RATE Any standard Bluetooth heart rate monitor will work — chest straps and arm bands that use the standard Bluetooth heart rate profile. • Live BPM in both structured Workouts and Just Ride • A heart rate trend across your workout profile, so you can see how hard each round actually hit you • Average and max heart rate saved for every ride, and for every interval • Your heart rate goes into Apple Health with the workout • Connect once — Simple Spin Pro remembers your strap and reconnects on its own next time • A quick check before you start: your heart rate shows on the home screen as soon as the strap is picking you up No strap? Nothing changes. Every screen looks exactly as it did before. It tells you the truth, too. A red heart means a live reading. If the strap slips or loses contact, the number greys out instead of pretending — and it never shows a made-up zero. HAVING TROUBLE CONNECTING? Most heart rate straps can only connect to one device at a time. If yours will not show up, make sure it is not already connected to another device — your watch, another phone, a gym machine, or another fitness app. Disconnect it there, then try again. ALSO IN THIS RELEASE • Workouts saved to Apple Health no longer carry a made-up room temperature STILL NEW — WORK DURATION (from 2.2.3) Your rounds no longer all have to be the same length. Open the Smart Workout Wizard, pick Repeating or Progressive, and choose how round length moves: • Same — every round the same length • Longer — each round runs longer than the one before it • Shorter — start long and count down to the short, sharp ones at the end • Up & Down — climb to your longest round, then come back down The wizard spells out every round before you save, TOTAL WORKOUT updates as you turn the dial, and your coach tells you what the next round is doing — "Building. 1:30 next." "Longest round. 3:00 - biggest effort." THE REST OF THE WIZARD, IF YOU HAVE NOT MET IT Pick a shape and Simple Spin Pro writes the intervals: • Repeating — the classic work / recovery session • Progressive — every round a little harder than the last • Pyramid — climb to a peak, then come back down • Custom — build it interval by interval Every interval sets your Echelon's resistance the moment it begins. Training by watts? Simple Spin Pro reads your live cadence and works out the resistance needed to hold your target. Structured training built for your Echelon bike — no class subscription, no instructor, no schedule. Just the session you actually want to ride, and now your heart rate along with it.
