About 10-20.IO

The 10-20 app is designed to run seamlessly in the background on the user’s phone, serving as a vital component of the 10-20.io platform. It delivers real-time location tracking, secure communications, and shared situational awareness for first responders, empowering supervisors and commanders with a unified view of team locations and instant agency-wide coordination. 10-20 now also supports satellite direct-to-cell connectivity, including Starlink-compatible satellite use cases, helping keep essential messaging and location functions available in constrained network conditions. Updated location markers, improved shared pin placement, and support for manually entering latitude and longitude make it easier to share precise locations from the field. An agency filter in Units view also gives users more control over which departments and personnel are visible at any given time. By enhancing communication, improving response times, and enabling seamless interagency collaboration, 10-20 is tailored to the unique needs of police, fire, EMS, and emergency management agencies. Prioritizing security, ease of use, CJIS compliance, and reliability, 10-20 provides modern public safety professionals with a unified platform for real-time situational awareness and communications.

What’s new

Version v4.6.0 · Updated October 6, 2026

What's New in 4.6.0: - Live map: Unit locations now update in real time instead of every few seconds. The map reconnects on its own if your connection drops and shows "Updating locations…" while it refreshes. - Clearer sending in Comms: Messages you send show up in the conversation right away with their status ("Sending…" or "Pending connection"), and photos show a preview. A photo sent with text arrives in order: photo first, then the text. - Faster unit details: Tapping a unit opens its details right away using recently loaded info, then updates in the background. If details can't load, you get a Retry button instead of an error screen. - Easier-to-read timestamps: The time now appears under each message. Messages older than 24 hours also show the date. - Better dark mode: Text and icons are easier to read across Comms, Units, User Details and guest sign-up, including message text, links and broadcast messages. Fixes: - Messages are no longer marked as read while the app is in the background or you're on another tab, so unread counts stay accurate. - The app icon badge is no longer overwritten by an old count when the app isn't open. - Following a unit on the map no longer stutters when other units move. - The map stops streaming locations when you're off duty or signed out, which saves battery and data. - Unit number and agency name now show correctly when part of a user's profile is missing.
