About TraiLink
Keep your group connected off grid. TraiLink shows everyone in your group on the map and lets you message and send SOS alerts with no cell service, no satellite plan and no subscription. TraiLink devices talk directly to each other over long-range radio. Pair your phone with your TraiLink over Bluetooth, and the app does the rest. Built for snowmobiling, ATVing, hunting, fishing, backcountry trips and anywhere your phone shows "No Service." Don't have a TraiLink yet? Get one at trailink.ca See Your Group • Live positions of everyone in your group on the map, with no cellular connection • Speed, heading, distance and time since last update for each person • Group radar on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island during an adventure, showing how far away everyone is • Save multiple groups and switch between them. Each keeps its own members, chat and waypoints • Share a group and require a join code so only the people you invite can join Stay Safe • Send an SOS to alert your group if you need help • Receive an SOS from any TraiLink user in range, even if they aren't in your group • Off-grid messaging with your group • Low battery and reconnect alerts so you know your TraiLink is working Track Your Trips • Record your route, save it and overlay past routes on the map • Replay a trip as the trail draws, see your speed along the way and switch to a satellite map Control Your TraiLink • Update your TraiLink's firmware right from the app • Change device settings, name and colour, with most changes saving instantly • Choose Long range for maximum distance or Short range for more frequent updates when your group is close together • Standalone mode: clip a TraiLink on a person or machine and track it from your phone. The wearer doesn't need the app • Use repeaters to extend your coverage, and see nearby repeaters in their own list • Check your TraiLink's GPS signal strength at a glance • Dim at Night lowers LED brightness after sunset, worked out on your phone so it works offline Built For No Signal • Help guides and an app tour that work with no signal • Tips point out features as you go
What’s new
Version 2.5.0 · Updated October 21, 2026
What's New in Version 2.5 New • More than one group: Keep all your groups and switch between them. One is active at a time, and each group keeps their own members, chat and waypoints. Leaving the group stops sharing but keeps the group in your list. Find your groups in Profile, under Groups. • Join codes: Turn on "require a join code" when you share a group, and people will need to enter the code to join. • SOS from anyone nearby: You'll now get an SOS from any TraiLink user in range, even if they aren't in your group. They show on the map with a dashed ring. • Group radar on the Lock Screen: During an adventure, the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island show your group on a radar with how far away each person is. • Better replays: Your trail draws as the replay plays. Tap Speed above the graph to see how fast you went, or switch to a satellite map. • Help and tips: Help now includes guides that work with no signal, plus a tour of the app. Tips point out features as you go. Your TraiLink • Firmware 2.5.0: Includes much better battery life. The app offers the update when your TraiLink connects. Your TraiLink needs firmware 2.4.2 or later to work with this version. • New Device Settings: Most changes save right away. Only renaming your TraiLink or turning the built-in GPS on or off will restart it. You can also set the device colour. • Two transmission modes: Long range reaches the furthest. Short range gets more positions through when your group is close together. Everyone in the group must use the same mode. • Standalone stays in sync: A Standalone TraiLink can follow the app's name, colour, group and update interval. Turn it on under Keep in sync with the app. • Repeaters: Repeaters now have their own list below your group, nearest first. A repeater can also be made public so anyone in range can use it. • GPS signal: The device card now shows your TraiLink's GPS signal strength. Settings And Alerts • Low battery alert: Get a notification when your TraiLink's battery drops to 10%. • Dim at Night: Set a lower LED brightness for after sunset. Sunrise and sunset are calculated on your phone, so it works offline.
