Ohio’s GDL Law has three parts: Temporary Permit (TIPIC), Probationary Driver’s License, and Full License/No Restrictions. At the age of 15 years and six months, you can begin the Temporary Permit process. Once you have completed the knowledge test and vision screening, you have earned your Learner’s Permit. When do I need to take this course? Before being able to move on to Phase 2, the Probationary Driver’s License, certain requirements must be met.
