About Montreal Lake Cree Nation
Montreal Lake Cree Nation lies in the boreal forest of central Saskatchewan, north of Prince Albert, and this app is where the Nation shares what's going on. It's free, and anyone can use it, whether or not they live in the community. Cree language and culture come up often. The fall harvest camp brings three days of demonstrations, shared meals and fish fry suppers, and the Cree Language Forum invites everyone to hear from language knowledge keepers about passing the language on to young people. There's plenty of everyday community life as well, from a Thanksgiving lunch in the school gym and a Halloween house decorating contest to the fall fish derby and the Montreal Lake Finest golf tournament. Job postings from Nation departments, the school and MLCN Urban Services give the hours, the deadline and where to send a resume. Students will find scholarship deadlines, the post-secondary application package and the student manual in the same place. The calendar marks busy days with dots, so you can tap a date and see what's planned, then add an event to your own phone in one step. Tabs sort posts by kind, a search icon finds older ones, and a notification comes through whenever a post goes up. Designed for iPhone and iPad.
What’s new
Version 2.93.3 · Updated October 23, 2026
What's New • Smoother Feed: Scrolling is noticeably smoother, and posts no longer repeat or change order while you scroll. • Quicker Tabs: Switching tabs and signing in reload less, so the feed appears sooner. • Highlighted Notes: Important notes in posts now stand out in a shaded box. • Easier-to-Read Links: Links in posts stay clear and readable in dark mode. • Calendar: The month arrows now stay on the month you choose. • Notifications: Tapping a notification opens its post, even right after you install the app, and new installs set up notifications more reliably. • Slow Connections: Pages load more reliably when the signal is weak. Recently added: • Community Calendar: A tab with a month and week view of everything coming up. Tap a day to see its events, open one for the time and location, and add it straight to your own calendar. • Instant Search: Find any post in seconds, with results that appear as you type. • Richer Posts: News and events support headings, bold text, lists and links. • Custom Categories: Administrators can create their own feed categories, so posts are grouped the way the community chooses. • Dark Mode: The navigation bar follows your dark mode setting.
