LASER558 & LASER Hot Hits

LASER558 was unique for its time as it brought an almost unheard-of American format to the UK and Europe on this side of the Atlantic Ocean. Forty years later, some of those original DJs are back using the same LASER558 music format as the station did in the 1980s. We use the same ‘Hot Clock’ filled with hits of the time and a range of oldies, all from the same era and genres that LASER558 used all those years ago. Every Sunday at 6 p.m., we join LASER558 for a special UK Top 40 Countdown. Travel back in time as we play the biggest hits from exactly 40 years ago. Whether you remember these songs from their original release or are discovering them for the first time, it’s a must-listen event. Everybody likes a '2-for-1' offer, and we're no different. LASER Hot Hits reimagines the legacy of LASER558, keeping its spirit alive while embracing today's music. By blending the original format with fresh hits, we create a station that feels both nostalgic and modern. If LASER558 had never left the airwaves, this is how it might sound today! Staying true to its roots by mixing classic favourites with the latest chart-toppers, we ensure that the music is never more than a minute away, keeping the energy high and the excitement constant. A new lineup of DJs brings fresh voices and dynamic shows, making every broadcast engaging and entertaining. Combining the best of both worlds, LASER Hot Hits delivers a station honouring the past while celebrating the present. With timeless classics, modern chart hits, and engaging DJs, it keeps the legend of LASER558 alive in an exciting new way.
