About MOOD Social & Dating

Every other app asks who you like. MOOD asks what you're in the MOOD for, then shows you the people who answered the same way. Sixteen MOODs, grouped by what you're actually here for. Your MOOD is your intent, stated up front, so nobody has to guess. HOW IT WORKS Choose your MOOD. Browse a grid of people who chose it too. Send an Offer - something specific, instead of a blank "hey." They accept it, or they send a Counter. When you agree, the chat opens. ROMANTIC Long-Term Relationship - for people building something that lasts Confident Women - only women open with an Offer; anyone can reply Discreet - photos vanish after 60 seconds, screenshots and recording disabled PLATONIC Just Friends - friendship, full stop Event Friends - browse events instead of profiles, join one, land in the group chat, or host your own Pet Dates - bring the pet 420 Friends - available only where cannabis is legal Study Buddies - scoped to your campus Nerdy Times - for the specific thing you're a nerd about LGBTQ+ Community - place yourself on the interest scale and see only the people whose scale includes you Politics - matched on policy positions and party affiliation CASUAL Four adult MOODs behind an 18+ gate, for people who would rather be direct than coy. N.A.T.O. Not Attached To an Outcome. Every barrier drops. Talk to anyone, no Offer required, no label on it. GAMING Every game in the app, in one place. Play something before you've worked out what to say. WHY MOOD IS DIFFERENT Ambiguity is the thing we built this to fix. On most apps you match with someone and spend a week working out what they actually want. Here it's the first thing you know about them. The Offer and Counter mechanic is patent pending.

What’s new

Version 2.0.1 · Updated August 26, 2026

Joining is simpler. • The agreement now sits next to the Join button instead of below the MOOD list, so nothing is hidden further down the page • If something is still needed before you can join, the app now tells you what it is • Already on the waitlist? Opening the app confirms your spot instead of asking you to sign up twice • Inviting a friend now sends them straight to the right app store for their phone The opening screen also explains what makes MOOD Social & Dating different: no swiping, no algorithm, just people who want the same thing you do, right now.
